3 Tons

The Goodman CAPF3636B6 evaporator coil is rated for a 3 ton output. In many system configurations, this coil may be larger in tonnage than its paired condenser. This is intentional, to maintain the overall efficiency of the entire system.
Please note that in order for this coil to function, a furnace or blower and a condenser is required, all sold separately.

Warranty

The CAPF3636B6 coil is covered under Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty when the unit is installed following your state and local codes, the coil is paired with a compatible condenser, and the entire system is registered online through the manufacturer.

The Goodman CAPF3636B6 evaporator coil is able to be installed in upflow and downflow applications. With its rust-resistant, thermoplastic drain plan, water retention rate is significantly lower than previous models. For even more enhanced durability, the cabinet is made of a strong galvanized-steel with a leather-grain finish. If you ever need to perform maintenance on your coil, there is a split-seam on the front of the casing for easy internal access.
Please note that this coil will not work as a replacement for any single-piece air handler coils.

The CAPF3636B6 evaporator coil’s foil-faced insulation lowers air leakage, increasing the amount of air flow going into your ductwork, keeping you more comfortable while decreasing the unit’s run time. Heating up to a smaller house in average environmental conditions, the GCEC960403BN Goodman furnace has an input of 40,000 BTU’s and an output of 38,400 BTU’s (input X efficiency rating = output).

96% AFUE

The GCEC960403BN gas furnace is 96% efficient. This efficiency means that 4% of the fuel going into the furnace is lost out of the flue venting, while 96% of the fuel is actually used to heat your home. As a condensing furnace, this furnace will need to be vented with plastic or PVC flue venting. If you are looking for a furnace that requires metal flue venting, you would need an 80% efficient furnace.

With a two stage burner, the GCEC960403BN provides two heating outputs: one at a 60% heating output for warmer days and one at a 100% output for when you need the furnace most. The furnace also has a multi speed ECM motor instead of an inefficient PSC motor. Both of these upgrades provide a better efficiency with a more stable output to better heat your home through all seasons of use.

The outer casing on the GCEC960403BN gas furnace is heavy-gauge steel with enhanced insulated for better protection and lower air leakage and sound output, providing more comfort to your home. The new hot surface ignitor replaces the standing pilot light for a more efficient startup.

The GCEC960403BN Goodman furnace can be installed in either the downflow or horizontal orientation, making this furnace an ideal choice for multiple installation applications. Naturally, the GCEC960403BN comes with natural gas valves built in. However, increasing its installation potential, the GCEC960403BN can be field converted with the LP conversion kit (found here, for an extra fee) if you need it to be propane.
