A Goodman combination system is a great choice to keep your home warm all season long. With tons of extra features and a great price, a Goodman furnace and air conditioning system is the perfect choice for all of your heating and cooling needs.
Goodman has always set its goals at superior comfort at a high efficiency, all the while balancing the unit's cost. The GSXH501810 is no exception, with its durability, reliability, and one of the highest efficiencies available.
The GSXH501810 AC-only condenser is 1.5 tons, normally enough to cover up to a smaller house. Please note that in some cases, the system bundle pairs this unit with a larger tonnage coil to maintain the system's efficiency.
The GSXH501810 condenser is designed to be up to 15.2 SEER2 in ideal system configurations. Considered a high-efficiency, 15.2 SEER2 is around 12% more efficient than a 14.3 SEER2 system, saving you a lot of money in energy bills. 15.2 SEER2 efficiency ratings tend to be where cost meets efficiency, and is normally the best value for the efficiency.
The GSXH501810 condenser comes with Goodman's standard 10 year parts warranty with online registration through the manufacturer. An installation that follows your state and local codes is required for the warranty to be upheld.
The cabinet of Goodman's condensers are manufactured out of heavy-gauge galvanized-steel with a baked-on painted finish that is approved for 500 hours of salt spray. The durable cabinet of the GSXH501810 is also compliant with 2010 Florida building code integrity requirements for hurricane-strength weather.
For easier maintenance, Goodman designed the GSXH501810's cabinet with two maintenance access panels - one on the top and one on the side. For easier installation, the GSXH501810 is made with easy-access gauge ports and service valves with sweat connections. Both of these lower installation and maintenance times and costs, keeping money in your pocket for the things you care about most.
Superior comfort has always been the primary goal for Goodman. The GSXH501810 follows this goal, made with high-quality parts and even designed to have one of the lowest sound outputs on the market, thanks to superior sound-dampening and insulation technology. All of this makes you comfortable and lowers your bills while staying in-budget.
Overview
An AC or heat pump system is only as good as its evaporator coil. The Goodman CAPTA evaporator coil's are designed with this simple thought in mind for its longevity, accessibility, and value as their other heating and cooling equipment. The advanced design and all-aluminum constriction of this coil improves its durability and heat transfer efficiency. The CAPT is a cased A coil for use in Upflow/Downflow applications. These units include an internal TXV (thermostatic expansion valve), which is perfect for high-performance systems. Goodman pressure tests each coil twice prior to it leaving the factory. Whether you're replacing an old failing coil or installing an new system, you can choose Goodman's CAPTA units with confidence.
Features
Goodman is focused on providing high-quality products at an affordable price, and protecting them with what we believe to be some of the best warranties in the industry*. This clear focus has led to Goodman being a leading unit manufacturer of residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning products and systems in North America. Goodman creates products that are engineered for reliable long life, using the best components with some of the lowest failures rates in the industry.
The GM9C800803BN Goodman gas furnace features high-quality construction and efficient operation at a great value. The GM9C800803BN two-stage, 9-speed furnace utilizes Goodman's superior heat exchanger design to provide efficient, reliable heating to your home. If you're looking to cut your energy bills and improve your comfort without breaking the bank, your search stops with the Goodman GM9C800803BN.
The GM9C800803BN Goodman gas furnace is 80,000 BTU’s. This BTU count is a measure of the input of the furnace per hour, while the output of this furnace is 64,000 BTU’s (80,000 X 80% AFUE) per hour. In ideal climate conditions, this 80,000 BTU furnace is usually used to heat a medium-sized house.
The GM9C800803BN Goodman gas furnace is 80% efficient, and the standard furnace efficiency on the market today. This means that 80% of the gas going into the furnace is used to heat your home and the remaining 20% is lost out of the flue venting. Please note that all 80% furnaces must be vented using metal flue venting, while anything higher than 90% efficient must be vented using plastic/PVC venting.
Please note that this furnace does not comply with California Low NOx or Ultra-Low NOx regulations. For the Low NOx equivalent of this furnace, click here. If you have any questions, please contact us.
The GM9C800803BN Goodman gas furnace is a two stage furnace that has two heating outputs on the burner: full output on colder winter days and a lower output for milder days that the furnace doesn’t have to run quite as much. Two stage furnaces allow for a more even heat distribution, as the furnace will only kick on the higher stage if the indoor temperature is more than a few degrees away from the desired temperature. Since the lower stage will be used more often, the GM9C800803BN will run quieter than a single stage system. While the majority of the benefits of a two stage feature on a furnace are comfort based, the efficiency of the furnace is slightly higher due to it burning less fuel at its lower stage.
From the factory, the GM9C800803BN runs on natural gas. However all Goodman gas furnaces can be converted to propane using the furnace’s corresponding LP conversion kit, an optional accessory at an additional cost that consists of a replacement set of orifices and springs.
Instead of the last generation PSC blower motor, the GM9C800803BN utilizes a multi-speed ECM motor, which uses less power and provides smarter air circulation. All of this causes an overall increase in the electrical efficiency of your furnace, which saves you money.
With installation that follows your state and local codes and with online registration, all Goodman furnaces come with a 10-year parts and lifetime heat exchanger warranty through the manufacturer.
The hot surface igniter on modern Goodman furnaces are more durable than previous designs, decreasing related issues and lowering maintenance costs. These hot surface ignitors are also more efficient than standing pilot and older HSI designs, saving you even more money.
The Goodman brand has improved technology from years of production experience, allowing for a long-lasting product that rarely has any issues. However, if something does go wrong on the furnace, the control board has a set of sensors that allow it to diagnose basic issues, allowing for easy troubleshooting and to notify the owner if basic maintenance or warranty work is recommended. This increases the overall safety of the unit, for the furnace itself and the occupants of the home where it is installed.
The heavy-gauge steel cabinet on new Goodman furnaces provide adequate protection to the internal mechanisms of the unit. The cabinet is also more air-tight than previous models, allowing for a quiet, more economical unit due to losing less heat and preventing more sound from exiting the unit.
The value of modern Goodman furnaces doesn't end at efficiency. Today’s Goodman furnaces feature many different connection options to reduce installation. The GM9C800803BN model has a more universal design, which consists of its ability to be installed in both an upflow or horizontal configuration. This allows for an easier installation in more locations, from your attic to your basement. The furnace also comes with color-coded low-voltage terminals that allow for a shorter and easier installation time, which decreases installation costs.
