This Goodman system provides 2.5 Ton of cooling, 40,000 BTU of heating, and acheives 14.5 SEER. These features make it a perfect choice for your next system.
The Goodman GMEC960403AN furnace features a two stage gas valve and multi-speed blower motor that can be installed in either upflow or horizontal configurations. This furnace also features a X13 blower motor that saves electricity during the heating and cooling months. This direct current motor uses less electricity than the standard multi-speed furnace blower. This furnace also includes a patented aluminized-steel tubular heat exchanger and durable Silicon Nitride Hot Surface Ignition system. These furnaces are run-tested for heating or combination heating and cooling applications. With a heavy-gauge, reinforced, insulated steel cabinet and durable baked enamel finish, this unit can be installed in a variety of locations. Not intended for use in mobile homes.
The Goodman GMEC960403AN furnace has a 96% AFUE rating which means that for every every $1.00 you spend, 96 cents goes towards heating your home.
Furnace Features
Goodman AC - The Goodman GSX160301 16 SEER Central Air Conditioner uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-410A and features energy efficiencies and operating sound levels that are among the best in the heating and air conditioning industry. R-410A is chlorine-free to help prevent damage to the ozone layer. The GSX160301 features a high-efficiency Copeland scroll compressor and is designed for the consumer who desires superior comfort, quiet operation, and environmentally friendly air conditioning performance.
In order to achieve the 16 SEER efficiency this central air conditioner must be installed with the manufacturer recommended evaporator coil, furnace, variable speed air handler, or variable speed modular blower and thermostatic expansion valve (TXV). A 16 SEER system will reduce your electric bill approximately 7% - 8% more than a 15 SEER system. Check out more features on this 2.5 Condenser.

Cabinet Features
This pre-assembled transition is a perfect for when the width of the furnace and width of the coil is different. This transition is designed for a 14" to 17.5" transition. This transition is quick and easy to install and eliminates block-offs for maximum efficiency.
Features:The Goodman CHPF3636B6 evaporator coil is designed for any installations that the coil needs to sit on its side, in the horizontal position. With its enhanced comfort and superior efficiency design, the CHPF3636B6 is an inexpensive yet quality choice for you.
At an output of 3 tons, the Goodman CHPF3636B6 evaporator coil is ready for almost any horizontal installation at that size. In many situations, a condenser that is paired with the condenser is going to be smaller than this coil. This is intentional and is to maintain the overall unit’s efficiency. Please note that for this coil to function, a furnace or blower and a condenser is required, all sold separately. This coil is not designed to replace a coil in a single-piece air handler.
The CHPF3636B6 coil is covered under Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty when the unit is installed following your state and local codes, the coil is paired with a compatible R410A condenser, and the entire system is registered online through the manufacturer.
The Goodman CHPF3636B6 evaporator coil is designed with a durable outer casing and a rust-resistant drain pan to lower general wear and tear to make sure the coil works for years to come. To ease installation, the unit is designed to be slim and able to fit in many crawl spaces and attics, and with its foil-face insulation making the unit’s air leakage minimal, installation location does not necessarily have to be insulated for normal temperature operations. For maintenance, the coil has a split-seam on the front of it for easier access.
As a high-efficiency system, the GMEC960403AN Goodman gas furnace features many money saving features. The two-stage, multi-speed furnace uses a superior heat exchanger for better heat transfers to your home. Considered one of the best efficiencies on the market, the GMEC960403AN is a good way to go if you want to lower your gas bill.
Heating up to a smaller house in normal conditions, the GMEC960403AN Goodman gas furnace has an input of 40,000 BTU’s and an output of 38,400 BTU’s. The output in this case is determined by taking the input times the efficiency rating.
The GMEC960403AN Goodman gas furnace is a 96% efficient furnace, making it a condensing setup. This efficiency means that only 4% of the fuel going into the furnace is used up in furnace operations, while 96% of the fuel is used to heat your home. As a condensing furnace, this furnace will need to be vented with plastic or PVC flue venting. If you need to use metal flue venting, you would need an 80% efficient furnace.
With a two stage burner, the GMEC960403AN provides two heating outputs: one at a 60% heating output and one at a 100% output. The furnace also has a multi speed ECM motor instead of the last-generation inefficient PSC motor. Both of these built-in upgrades allow for your furnace to adjust the heating output and airflow more precisely to better suit your home’s comfort needs and provide a slightly higher efficiency.
With installation that follows your state and local codes and with online registration, all Goodman GMEC series furnaces come with a 10-year parts, 10-year unit replacement, and lifetime heat exchanger warranty through the manufacturer.
The exterior casing on the GMEC960403AN is heavy-gauge steel that is insulated for enhanced protection and to lower air leakage and sound output from normal furnace operation. The hot surface ignitor is more efficient than earlier models and standing pilot lights thanks to its revolutionary new technology. Both of these end up saving you money on installation, maintenance, and bills.
The cost-saving benefits of the Goodman brand doesn’t stop at efficiency. The GMEC960403AN Goodman furnace can be upflow or horizontal, increasing the number of ways that your installer can install the system. The low-voltage terminals that are color-coded, the installation is faster and easier over standard non-colored systems. Straight from the factory, the GMEC960403AN comes with natural gas valves. However, increasing its versatility in installation, Goodman offers an LP conversion kit (found here at an additional cost) if you need it to be propane instead of natural gas. Not only does the Goodman brand save you money on installation costs, but also with maintenance and warranty work. In the event of a rare warranty issue, the on board self-diagnostic control board alerts you and your serviceman what is wrong with the unit for most basic issues for a faster solution.
Thermostatic Expansion Valves (TXVs) are:
Your system will operate more precisely and with greater efficiency with a TXV. These valves offer more control over how much liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator coil. The valves only allow a precise amount of liquid into the evaporator coil to ensure that all liquid that enters fully evaporates. This prevents too little liquid from entering the evaporator making the system run less efficiently. It also prevents too much liquid from entering the evaporator which can cause excess liquid in the suction line. Thermostatic Expansion Valves can be mounted in any position on the evaporator coil inlet and are reliable, efficient and virtually trouble-free. Select the TXV to correspond with the tonnage of your air conditioner or heat pump, as well as to match the type of refrigerant your systems uses, R-22 (standard) or R-410A (new alternative).
When using a TXV, manufacturer's recommend also installing a hard-start capacitor in your heat pump or condenser. This capacitor gives an extra "jolt" of electricity upon startup to push the refrigerant against higher head pressures that are present with a TXV system. If a hard-start capacitor isn't installed, the equipment compressor may sometimes have difficulty starting.
