Goodman has always set its goals at superior comfort at a high efficiency, all the while balancing the unit's cost. The GSXH502410 is no exception, with its durability, reliability, and one of the highest efficiencies available.
The GSXH502410 AC-only condenser is 2 tons, normally enough to cover up to a smaller house. Please note that in some cases, the system bundle pairs this unit with a larger tonnage coil to maintain the system's efficiency.
The GSXH502410 condenser is designed to be up to 15.2 SEER2 in ideal system configurations. Considered a high-efficiency, 15.2 SEER2 is around 12% more efficient than a 14.3 SEER2 system, saving you a lot of money in energy bills. 15.2 SEER2 efficiency ratings tend to be where cost meets efficiency, and is normally the best value for the efficiency.
The GSXH502410 condenser comes with Goodman's standard 10 year parts warranty with online registration through the manufacturer. An installation that follows your state and local codes is required for the warranty to be upheld.
The cabinet of Goodman's condensers are manufactured out of heavy-gauge galvanized-steel with a baked-on painted finish that is approved for 500 hours of salt spray. The durable cabinet of the GSXH502410 is also compliant with 2010 Florida building code integrity requirements for hurricane-strength weather.
For easier maintenance, Goodman designed the GSXH502410's cabinet with two maintenance access panels - one on the top and one on the side. For easier installation, the GSXH502410 is made with easy-access gauge ports and service valves with sweat connections. Both of these lower installation and maintenance times and costs, keeping money in your pocket for the things you care about most.

With the CAPFA2422C6 evaporator coil, Goodman provides an enhanced comfort to your home. With its ability to work with AC-only systems or with heat pumps and its ability to be installed in both the upflow or downflow orientations, the CAPFA2422C6 is designed to be versatile in design and to provide an efficient comfort at a low cost.
The Goodman CAPFA2422C6 evaporator coil is rated for a 2 ton output. In many system configurations, this coil may be larger in tonnage than its paired condenser. This is intentional, to maintain the overall efficiency of the entire system.Please note that in order for this coil to function, a furnace or blower and a condenser is required, all sold separately.
The CAPFA2422C6 coil is covered under Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty when the unit is installed following your state and local codes, the coil is paired with a compatible condenser, and the entire system is registered online through the manufacturer.
The Goodman CAPFA2422C6 evaporator coil is able to be installed in upflow and downflow applications. With its rust-resistant, thermoplastic drain plan, water retention rate is significantly lower than previous models. For even more enhanced durability, the cabinet is made of a strong galvanized-steel with a leather-grain finish. If you ever need to perform maintenance on your coil, there is a split-seam on the front of the casing for easy internal access. Please note that this coil will not work as a replacement for any single-piece air handler coils.
The CAPFA2422C6 evaporator coil’s foil-faced insulation lowers air leakage, increasing the amount of air flow going into your ductwork, keeping you more comfortable while decreasing the unit’s run time. With compatible equipment, the CAPFA2422C6 evaporator coil lives up to Goodman’s enhanced comfort and efficiency standards at a reasonable price.
Thermostatic Expansion Valves (TXVs) are:
Your system will operate better and with higher efficiency with a TXV kit. This kit offers more control over how much liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator coil. The valves only allow a certain amount of liquid into the coil to make sure that all liquid that enters completely evaporates. This allows for the prevention of too little liquid from entering the evaporator which would make the system run less efficiently. It also stops too much liquid from entering the evaporator which can cause excess in the lines. Thermostatic Expansion Valves are provide multi-position mounting on the evaporator coil inlet and are consistent, efficient and virtually hassle-free. Select the TXV to match the tonnage of your air conditioner or heat pump, as well as to match the type of refrigerant your systems uses, R-22 (standard) or R-410A (new alternative)
This capacitor gives an extra "jolt" of electricity upon startup to push the refrigerant against higher head pressures that are present with a TXV system. When using a TXV, manufacturer's recommend also installing a hard-start in your heat pump or condenser. If a hard-start capacitor is not installed, the equipment compressor has a possibility of having trouble getting started.
