The ACiQ AQ-GLZS4BA2410 heat pump has a capacity of 2 tons. In an ideal climate, this tonnage will normally cover up to a small house. In some bundles, the air handler or coil associated with this condenser may be intentionally larger in tonnage to maintain the unit's overall efficiency. Please note that an indoor air handler or coil that is compatible with heat pumps is required for this unit to function.

At 14.3 SEER2, the AQ-GLZS4BA2410 heat pump condenser has the industry-standard minimum, allowing the unit to remain inexpensive upfront in comparison to higher SEER2 ratings. The ACiQ AQ-AMST24BU1300 air handler is rated for an output of 2 tons. In many cases, the tonnage of the air handler will be larger than the condenser that it is naturally paired with. This is intentional, and is to maintain the overall efficiency of the unit. While the unit does require a condenser to function as part of a heat pump or air conditioner, heat strips may be installed in the air handler to provide straight electric heating, which can be used as an electric furnace on its own or as a backup heat option for a heat pump setup.

If you are installing a heater coil in an air handler, line voltage is to be connected directly to the heater coil which will operate both the heater coil and air handler. A separate circuit for the air handler is not needed. 

Depending on the heater coil size being installed, one or two circuits to the heater coil will be necessary (see "PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS" below for quantity and amperage of circuits required for this heater coil.) At your home's circuit panel, individual 220 volt double-pole circuit breakers are required for each circuit.
