2 ton, 40,000 BTU

The ACiQ AQ-GPUM32404031 provides 2 tons of electric air conditioning as well as 40,000 BTU of natural gas heating to your home, providing comfort to your home year-round. While it comes from the factory with a natural gas valve setup, a propane conversion kit is available at an additional cost to be field-installed.

13.4 SEER2, 81% AFUE

On the air conditioning side, the AQ-GPUM32404031 packaged unit is 13.4 SEER2, or the national standard efficiency for AC units. The heating side of the unit is 81% efficient, meaning that 81 cents on every dollar that you spend on your home’s heating gas bill will be used to heat your home, and the remaining 19 cents is lost to normal heating operations and is lost out of the flue venting. Both of these efficiency ratings make the AQ-GPUM32404031 packaged unit a universal option, as it is acceptable to install nationwide.

Ultra-low NOx gas packaged units are only available in natural gas configurations. If you need a propane gas packaged unit, you will need to order the regular version of this packaged unit and add a propane conversion kit to it. You can find the regular version here: GPGM32404041

Warranty

ACiQ provides a 10 year parts warranty and a whopping 20 year heat exchanger warranty. Please note that the unit must be installed following your state and local codes and the unit must be registered online through the manufacturer for the warranty to be upheld.

Durability and Reliability

The exterior of the ACiQ AQ-GPUM32404031 is durable with its heavy-gauge steel design and superior noise isolation insulation. The unit also meets Florida building code unit integrity requirements for hurricane-type weather when properly anchored. For reliability, the unit’s blower motor is completely sealed and permanently lubricated. The evaporator coil is also all-aluminum and the redundant gas valve is accompanied by a power-assisted combustion, all increasing reliability and durability and providing a peace of mind that your unit will work whenever you need it.

Installation and Maintenance

The ACiQ AQ-GPUM32404031 packaged unit uses natural gas out of the box, but a propane conversion kit can be purchased separately and field-installed if required. For ease of installation, the AQ-GPUM32404031 is precharged from the factory with all required refrigerant, decreasing materials costs. The unit can be installed in a horizontal or downflow configuration for whether you need it to be on the roof or next to the building.

Customer Questions
What happens if this breaks down?
HVACDirect.com gives you lifetime tech support. Many common problems can be solved with a phone call to us. HVACDirect.com is an authorized dealer of ACiQ, therefore equipment we sell carries the full manufacturer's warranty. The warranty applies to all parts. You have to register the products online in order to extend the warranty to the full 10 years, otherwise the term is 5 years. If a part fails under warranty, you will not pay anything for the replacement part. Should a part fail under warranty, the first step is to have a professional confirm what part needs to be replaced. Then, contact us at customerservice@hvacdirect.com or by calling and asking for customer service.
What happens if it arrives damaged?
If you are present during drop-off and you see obvious signs of damage or rough handling in transit - please ask the driver to wait while you inspect the equipment. If it is damaged badly enough that you believe it can not function, you have the right to refuse the damaged portion of the shipment. If you discover the damage after the driver has left, take photos of the damage and send them to customerservice@hvacdirect.com. Please refer to your order number in the email. This starts the process and one of our representatives will be in touch with you promptly.
How can I find an installer?
It’s easier than you think – the key is to find an independent contractor or small company as opposed to a larger HVAC service. A one or two person outfit will do the work more quickly and cheaply than a bigger company, too. Yelp.com, Thumbtack.com, and Porch.com are websites are designed to help you connect with a professional in your area. You could also place a call to the last professional who did work on your home and see if they have any recommendations.
Should I order a new lineset?
Our top recommendation – protect your investment by replacing your lineset when you replace your air conditioning. Leftover oil and or contaminants in the old lineset can enter your new system and reduce the lifespan. If, on the other hand, you wish to avoid replacing the lineset, we do carry flush kits to clean out incompatible oils and contaminants.
Who makes this HVAC equipment?
This HVAC equipment is manufactured by a leading U.S. HVAC manufacturer known for producing high-quality, reliable heating and cooling systems. It is built to rigorous industry standards and designed to deliver lasting performance and efficiency.
Can this unit be installed on a rooftop or on the ground?
Yes, this unit supports horizontal and downflow configurations, giving you flexible installation options. It can be installed on the ground with horizontal duct connections or on a rooftop using a roof curb for standard downflow air delivery. If you need help determining the best setup for your home, our team is here to assist.
