3.5 Tons
The Goodman AMVT42CP1400 air handler is rated for an output of 3.5 tons. In many cases, the tonnage of the air handler will be larger than the condenser that it is naturally paired with. This is intentional, and is to maintain the overall efficiency of the unit. While the unit does require a condenser to function as part of a heat pump or air conditioner, heat strips may be installed in the air handler to provide straight electric heating, which can be used as an electric furnace on its own or as a backup heat option for a heat pump setup.

The AMVT42CP1400 comes with Goodman's standard 10 year parts warranty when registered online through the manufacturer. Please note that in order for the warranty to be upheld, the installation must be compliant to all related local and state codes, as well as the unit must be paired with an approved condenser.

- HVAC equipmentOrdered furnace, ac coil, and condenser to match. Upon arrival all three items we're damaged, I refused shipment and took pictures. I contacted HVAC direct immediately and informed them of the situation. They sent out new equipment without any delay and the new shipment arrived quicker than the first. Second time around all HVAC equipment is in great condition. I have not finished installing yet, but I am impressed with the speed in which HVAC direct solved my shipping damage. I will be ordering more in the future because of their willingness to make a bad situation good!

- Fine I guess.The unit cools our house well most of the time. Occasionally it shuts off on sweltering hot days. And sometimes the compressor hard starts several times before kicking on.

- Good american made.Being from Houston were they make them the quality is very good the dependable is very good overall I've had good luck over a 30 year investment in goodman products. Some give them a bad wrap but I would put them up against the big names any day.
