4 Tons

The ACiQ FEM4X4800BL air handler is rated for an output of 4 tons. In many cases, this air handler will be larger in tonnage than the condenser it is paired with to maintain the unit's overall efficiency. Please note that for this unit to provide cooling, an outdoor condenser is required for it to function. The unit can support electric heating as a straight electric furnace or as a backup for a heat pump, offered at an additional cost to be field installed.

Warranty

ACiQ offers a 10 year no hassle replacement warranty, as well as a 10 year parts warranty on this unit. For these warranties to be upheld, the unit must be installed following your state and local codes, a new and certified coil must be installed at the same time, and the entire system must be registered online through the manufacturer. After your purchase, a representative will reach out to you to retrieve installation information so we can register the product for you.

Installation and Durability

To make a more versatile unit, ACiQ designed the FEM4X4800BL to easily be installed in an upflow, downflow, or horizontal position. A TXV kit is already installed on the unit so your installer does not have to install one, decreasing installation costs. For durability, the FEM4X4800BL air handler is designed with an extremely strong, one-piece outer casing to protect the unit, and the coil is designed with corrosion-resistant aluminum.

Intelligent Comfort

The FEM4X4800BL air handler has an efficient ECM blower motor, providing a more stable temperature in your home, making you more comfortable. The control board will automatically communicate with your thermostat to adjust the output of the blower to suit your needs. With this intelligent comfort and efficiency, the FEM4X4800BL meets ACiQ's superior standards.

Questions and Answers

Customer Questions
Who makes ACiQ?
ACiQ air conditioning systems, standard heat pumps, and gas furnaces are manufactured by the largest HVAC manufacturer in America, who also happens to be the seller of the nation’s #1 brand. However, because our prices are SO LOW, they will not allow us to mention their name! They must protect their current market share where typical home systems retail between $15,000 to $25,000 for the identical equipment that we let you buy direct for under $3,000. We offer homeowners and contractors the highest quality and best warranty HVAC systems in the industry at the absolute lowest price. With our industry-leading, high-tech ACiQ equipment, your home and your savings just got a whole lot smarter!
What happens if this breaks down?
HVACDirect.com gives you lifetime tech support. Many common problems can be solved with a phone call to us. HVACDirect.com is an authorized dealer of ACiQ, therefore equipment we sell carries the full manufacturer's warranty. The warranty applies to all parts. You have to register the products online in order to extend the warranty to the full 10 years, otherwise the term is 5 years. If a part fails under warranty, you will not pay anything for the replacement part. Should a part fail under warranty, the first step is to have a professional confirm what part needs to be replaced. Then, contact us at [email protected] or by calling and asking for customer service.
What happens if it arrives damaged?
If you are present during drop-off and you see obvious signs of damage or rough handling in transit - please ask the driver to wait while you inspect the equipment. If it is damaged badly enough that you believe it can not function, you have the right to refuse the damaged portion of the shipment. If you discover the damage after the driver has left, take photos of the damage and send them to [email protected]. Please refer to your order number in the email. This starts the process and one of our representatives will be in touch with you promptly.
How can I find an installer?
It’s easier than you think – the key is to find an independent contractor or small company as opposed to a larger HVAC service. A one or two person outfit will do the work more quickly and cheaply than a bigger company, too. Yelp.com, Thumbtack.com, and Porch.com are websites are designed to help you connect with a professional in your area. You could also place a call to the last professional who did work on your home and see if they have any recommendations.
Should I order a new lineset?
Our top recommendation – protect your investment by replacing your lineset when you replace your air conditioning. Leftover oil and or contaminants in the old lineset can enter your new system and reduce the lifespan. If, on the other hand, you wish to avoid replacing the lineset, we do carry flush kits to clean out incompatible oils and contaminants.
I'm looking to replace my Carrier unit and this ACiQ unit seems to have about the same specs - are they the same product?
ACiQ is made by the same company as Carrier as well as brands like Bryant, TempStar and ArcoAire. Many of the internal components can be cross referenced for shared parts. So, yes, apart from the name on the badge – very similar if not identical.
How does the air return connect in the up-flow position?
Here is the installation manual to help clarify how to connect in the up-flow position. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thanks.
Is this unit able to be installed horizontally?
Yes. Any multi-positional air handler is capable of being installed horizontally. Be sure to reference the installation guide when doing so.
Does this come with a heat strip?
This unit does not come with a heat strip. You will need to purchase it separately and they can be found in the accessories section.
How many BTUs is this air handler?
This air handler can handle up to 48,000 BTUs of heating or cooling. If you have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.
Can the air handler be installed in a closed space like a closet? If it can is there a minimum size?
Yes, the air handler can as long as its dimensions will fit within the closet. Make sure you measure your space before committing to an air handler. If space is tight, you might be interested in our wall-mount or ceiling-mount air handlers as well. You can find our Wall-Mounted Air Handlers here and our Ceiling-Mounted Air Handlers here. If you have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.
