Paired with the MrCool UHP18036-O and UAH18036-O HA/HB wiring. Our last Heat pump was Single stage Goodman, with an very basic Digital thermostat. This thermostat and the heat pump do a good job making the house more comfortable. The thermostat has required some tinkering with the service menu. I've changed the following: Follow Me On, Fan Auto, Constant Fan Off. I also changed the Temp Comp - Cool to 2, as I think that starts the ramp down sooner as it approaches the set point. I also don't have auto heat/cool and just manually do the switch from heating to cooling. I've also set enhanced defrosting on to combat the recent ice storm(I do have it 4-6" risers).. The weird part is the thermostat sometimes overshoots the set point(based on its own readings). It is mostly limited to about a degree. I'm learning to just not watch it, as the house feels better as a whole. Only about a month and a half of ownership, so far. The Thermostat is rather basic and overpriced, but it still is the best option for a communicating setup, that I've found. I hope, in the end, that using an HA/HB setup with this thermostat will improve comfort and energy savings but it will take a lot longer to figure that out, with my sample size of 1.

Im using the ACQI Smart thermostat on a MR. Cool Universal Heat Pump, because MR Cool does not offer a WIFI HA/HB Communicating thermostat. All these units are the same, a Madeia with their brand logo on them. Thermostat works just fine, easy to install and setup. Temperature reading is accurate and connects to WIFI Just fine. It only allows one connection at a time via WIFI. There are some service parameters to adjust, but I cant find anyone in ACQI engineering that understands the settings, which would help optimize the system. As stated, it works just fine. There is some much performance information available with these heat pumps. It’s a shame someone is not providing a thermostat that would offer that.

I had previously used a Nest thermostat to control my variable speed inverter heat pump, but that only controls it by 24v connections which lack optimized control of fan and compressor. Switched to this new thermostat to have full control via its communication connection. The problem is I gained some features but lost others. Example features I don’t have with those new ACIQ thermostat is settings to control the temperature at which the aux heat turns on, the ability to run aux heat and heat pump at the same time, set points for my dehumidifier , as well as a good scheduling system. It’s very barebones compared to a nest or Ecobee thermostat , but it’s required to use the communication interface for varying the output of the fan and heating.

Purchased to use with a Senville ducted heat pump. Works just fine, seems to support all the features of the Senville. Only issue is that the app almost always disconnects from the thermostat. It is 3 extra clicks to reconnect, and so far that has always worked. Same issue android and apple. Using with the HA/HB terminals. Hope they resolve the app issue, asni will need another one here in a few months.

We have an ACIQ ducted system with a Floor unit installed. The thermostat came with the system was not WIFI compatible. We installed the ACIQ smart thermostat with WIFI and HA/HB compatible. There were two minor issues on installation. With HA/HB setup will require R & C wires installed for powering the unit. Installation guide will say this in start up section. The other issue is all HVAC systems,(ours were ducted unit and floor unit will need to be in same mode,(heating, cooling, etc.) or the thermostat will flash a communication error. Once we figured this out, everything worked great.

Finally! A thermostat that matches the capabilities of the ACiQ heatpumps and air conditioners they are paired with. I replaced my KJR-120N "smart" thermostats that look like they are left over from the early 2000's with these beauties and could not be happier. For one thing, the temperature is accurate right out of the box. The color touch screen user interface is intuitive, setup is simple, and ease of use could not be any friendlier. WiFi setup was a breeze too - all at a decent price point. The modern design fits in contemporary décor, and "pop-in" bracket made mounting to the wall simple. Printed instruction manual was not needed, but nice to have and accurate.

Customer Questions
Is this thermostat required to be connected to the internet to work for keeping temperature. If network is down for a few days it will still work?
The ACiQ TL04-1 Smart Thermostat is NOT required to be connected to the internet to perform its basic function of keeping the temperature. If you have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.
Does this work with the ACiQ ACIQ-60-HPD / ACIQ-48-ACL-B to easily set up the backup propane heat? On the last installation we used the Honeywell T6 and it took a bit to get the settings adjusted correctly. In Connecticut we had to show that the back up propane was locked out to 20 degrees F.
Yes, the ACiQ TL04-1 Smart Thermostat is compatible with the ACiQ-60-HPD / ACIQ-48-ACL-B system and should allow you to set a backup heat lockout temperature like your required 20 degrees F for propane (auxiliary) heat. If you have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.
Giveb that ACiQ heat pumps are built by Midea, am I right to suspect that this thermostat is a re-branded Midea MTL04-1? That would make it likely compatible in HA/HB communication with recent Midea central heat pumps. I have a Midea system that was installed with a third party 24v thermostat and looking to upgrade
Yes, you are likely correct: the ACiQ TL04-1 thermostat is widely considered a re-branded version of the Midea MTL04-1 wired controller and is designed for direct HA/HB (RS-485) communication with ACiQ/Midea central heat pump systems, allowing you to fully utilize the system's variable-speed features. If you have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.
