Austin Air HealthMate Standard Unit - Midnight Blue

The Austin Air HealthMate in Midnight Blue is the original unit in the Austin Air lineup and still the one that covers the widest range of air quality problems. It is rated for spaces up to 1,500 sq. ft. at two air changes per hour, enough for a master bedroom, a living room, a finished basement, or most of a small apartment.

Air enters through 360-degree perforated steel grilles on all four sides of the cabinet and moves through four stages of filtration. A large particle pre-filter takes dust, hair, and pet dander, a medium particle pre-filter follows for pollen, mold, and spores, then 15 lbs. of granular activated carbon and zeolite adsorbs smoke, odors, chemical vapors, and VOCs. The last stage is 60 sq. ft. of true medical grade HEPA, which is where the sub-micron particles that trigger allergies and asthma come out of the air.

A manual 3-speed dial sets the pace, from quiet overnight operation on low up to 400 CFM on high for smoke, cooking odors, or heavy pollen days. The permanent split capacitor motor sits on shock-absorbing mounts and is rated for continuous duty. Casters are standard, the bottom plate comes off for filter changes, and the filter pack is built to last up to five years in normal residential use. Assembled in Buffalo, New York.
