The Austin Air "it" with VOC Carbon Wrap in White is the chemical and odor version of Austin Air's personal purifier. It uses the same steel cabinet, 360-degree intake, and medical grade HEPA as the standard "it," with a carbon wrap added around the filter. Coverage is up to 300 sq. ft., and the unit weighs about 12 lbs.
HEPA media traps particles but does nothing for gases. The dual-stage carbon wrap fills that gap, adsorbing odors, chemical vapors, VOCs, smog, mycotoxins, and wildfire smoke before they reach you. That makes this the version to choose for high-traffic urban areas, smoke-prone regions, workplaces with cleaning or salon chemicals, or anyone with chemical sensitivity, asthma, or COPD.
Air enters from all sides, passes through the carbon wrap, and finishes at certified medical grade HEPA. A manual 3-speed dial handles operation, quiet enough for a desk or a nightstand. The HEPA filter lasts up to five years, and the carbon wrap replaces separately about every three months. Assembled in Buffalo, New York.
