Today's Hours 8am - 11pm estThe Austin Air Bedroom Machine in Midnight Blue is Austin Air's five-stage unit, built for people whose sleep is disrupted by allergies, asthma, or reactions to chemicals and odors. It runs at 39.8 dB on low, quiet enough for continuous overnight use in a bedroom. Coverage reaches 1,500 sq. ft. at two air changes per hour, or about 700 sq. ft. at four changes per hour.
Air enters through 360-degree perforated grilles on all four sides of the steel cabinet and passes through a large particle pre-filter, a medium particle pre-filter, 15 lbs. of activated carbon and zeolite, 60 sq. ft. of true medical grade HEPA, and a HEGA carbon cloth. HEGA stands for High Efficiency Gas Adsorption. The cloth is a woven carbon material developed by the British military, and it gives gases, chemical vapors, and odors a second stage of treatment beyond what the granular carbon captures.
Austin Air built the Bedroom Machine in partnership with the National Sleep Foundation, and it was used in a Johns Hopkins School of Public Health study examining bedroom air quality and asthma. The manual 3-speed dial moves 75, 200, or 400 CFM. Casters are standard, the bottom plate removes for filter changes, and the filter pack is rated for up to five years of normal residential use. Assembled in Buffalo, New York.
The Austin Air Bedroom Machine carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty on the motor, fan, and working parts, plus a 5-year prorated filter warranty under normal residential use. Refer to the manufacturer documentation for complete terms and conditions.
