Electric Unit Heaters
Typically, large or drafty areas are better served by gas fired unit heaters, but Reznor’s high efficiency unit heaters pump out impressive quantities of heat and conserve electricity at the same time. If you live in an area where gas prices tend to run a little high, then electric heaters make a lot of sense.
Reznor’s electric unit heaters are marvels of efficiency and durability. Enclosed in a steel cabinet made of 20-guage steel, they maintain their structural integrity through years of use. Ranging in heating power of 2 kW to 4 kW, they can heat a medium-sized area with ease. Louvers can be adjusted for maximum air flow direction.
Gas Unit Heaters
One of the most celebrated models of indoor heating is the Reznor UDAP Unit Heating Unit. Its popularity in both residential and commercial applications testifies to its quality. When gas is the fuel of choice, all of Reznor’s gas fired unit heaters deliver tons of heat at a high level of efficiency. The AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) for all of Reznor’s UDAP units is 83 percent, meaning that out of every dollar you spend on energy costs for this unit, 83 cents goes directly toward heating your space.
Reznor uses aluminized heat exchangers that slow the process of metal expansion and contraction, allowing for even heat flow and the elimination of chilly drafts.
Most of these units can be adapted to natural gas or liquid propane with an optional conversion kit. Installation of gas units must be performed by a licensed HVAC installer, but it is a simple process, with external gas hookup ports and several options for suspending or wall-mounting the units. In nearly all cases, free, downloadable PDF files cover the basics of installation and operation.
