The Goodman brand GMVC8 two-stage, variable-speed multi-position, gas furnace provides exceptional indoor comfort and quiet operation. With their two-stage gas valves and variable-speed circulator blowers, these furnaces provide comfort all season long.
If you want what we consider the best 80% AFUE gas furnace the Goodman® brand offers, but don’t need the efficiency provided by a 95% furnace, install this furnace and enjoy the energy and money savings year after year. This gas furnace has an AFUE rating of 80%, which means that 80 cents of every $1.00 of heating energy expense warms your home.
Standard Features
The Goodman® GSX14 14 SEER Central Air Conditioner uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-410A and features operating sound levels that are among the best in the heating and air conditioning industry. R-410A is chlorine-free to help prevent damage to the ozone layer. The GSX14 central air conditioner features a high-efficiency Copeland® scroll compressor and is designed for the consumer who desires superior comfort, quiet operation, and environmentally friendly cooling performance.
This central air unit can be 14 or 15 SEER depending on which indoor unit it is paired with. If it is installed with the manufacturer-recommended evaporator coil, variable speed furnace, variable speed air handler, or variable speed modular blower, and also sometimes a thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), it is a 15 SEER system (see Accessories tab above for actual products compatible with this central air conditioner, or the Documents tab above for Goodman's spec sheet details). A 15 SEER central air conditioning system will reduce your electric bill approximately 7% more than a 14 SEER system.
Some models of the Goodman condensers include an orifice (also called "flow rater" or "piston") in a small bag taped to the side of the condenser. If the condenser you purchase includes this orifice, you will need to replace the orifice already inside the evaporator coil or air handler you purchase with this orifice included with the condenser. Doing so makes the condenser and evaporator coil compatible. You can viewthis step-by-step guide to see how to easily change the orifice.
Please note that this equipment comes precharged with R-410A liquid refrigerant, and by Federal law cannot be released to the atmosphere. You can purchase this equipment without being certified, and if you are mechanically inclined you can perform about 90% of the equipment installation yourself. However, you must have a professional heating/cooling contractor do the final part of the installation which requires managing the refrigerant.
Central Air Conditioner's Standard Features
The Goodman CHPF3636B6 evaporator coil is designed for any installations that the coil needs to sit on its side, in the horizontal position. With its enhanced comfort and superior efficiency design, the CHPF3636B6 is an inexpensive yet quality choice for you.
At an output of 3 tons, the Goodman CHPF3636B6 evaporator coil is ready for almost any horizontal installation at that size. In many situations, a condenser that is paired with the condenser is going to be smaller than this coil. This is intentional and is to maintain the overall unit’s efficiency. Please note that for this coil to function, a furnace or blower and a condenser is required, all sold separately. This coil is not designed to replace a coil in a single-piece air handler.
The CHPF3636B6 coil is covered under Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty when the unit is installed following your state and local codes, the coil is paired with a compatible R410A condenser, and the entire system is registered online through the manufacturer.
The Goodman CHPF3636B6 evaporator coil is designed with a durable outer casing and a rust-resistant drain pan to lower general wear and tear to make sure the coil works for years to come. To ease installation, the unit is designed to be slim and able to fit in many crawl spaces and attics, and with its foil-face insulation making the unit’s air leakage minimal, installation location does not necessarily have to be insulated for normal temperature operations. For maintenance, the coil has a split-seam on the front of it for easier access.
Line sets are the copper lines which connect an outdoor condensing unit/heat pump to an inside air handler or evaporator coil. Line sets are available in different lengths and diameters to fit most applications.

The GMVC80604BN gas furnace is from one of the top-of-the-line series by Goodman. Considered one of the best of the best, this furnace has a two stage burner and a variable speed blower motor. With the best durability and reliability that Goodman 80% efficient furnaces have to offer, we are proud to offer you the Goodman GMVC80604BN gas furnace.
At an input of 60,000 BTU’s, the GMVC80604BN Goodman gas furnace is suitable for up to a medium-sized house in an average climate. The output of this furnace is 48,000 BTU’s, which is calculated by the input times the 80% efficiency rating.
With the industry standard efficiency of 80% AFUE, the GMVC80604BN Goodman gas furnace uses 80% of the fuel going into the furnace to heat your home and the remaining 20% of the fuel going into it is used up in normal furnace operations and is lost out of the flue venting. The GMVC80604BN requires metal flue venting like any 80% efficient furnace, while anything 90% and above would require plastic or PVC venting.
Please note that this furnace does not comply with California Low NOx or Ultra-Low NOx regulations. If you have any questions, please contact us.
The GMVC80604BN is equipped with two stages, allowing for an adjusted heat output to better suit your home’s comfort needs. The integrated variable speed blower on the furnace allows for an exact airflow output based on the requirements for your home as calculated by the control board and thermostat, keeping your home at a more constant temperature and increasing efficiency overall.
The GMVC80604BN comes standard with Goodman’s 10 year parts warranty and its phenomenal lifetime heat exchanger warranty. In order to maintain this warranty, the installation must follow your state and local codes and the unit must be registered online through the manufacturer.
The tubular heat exchanger on the GMVC80604BN is heavy-duty for constant use in the winter. Made of aluminized steel, Goodman heat exchangers provide fast and efficient heat transfer rates, all the while increasing the furnace’s dependability and reliability. The heavy-duty exterior of the unit protects all of the unit’s internal mechanisms and the secure cabinet lowers air leakage and sound output in comparison to its competitors, all providing enhanced comfort that lasts a long time.
The GMVC80604BN furnace runs natively on natural gas. When you use Goodman’s associated LP conversion kit (found here at an additional cost), this furnace can use propane instead when the installation calls for it. This Goodman furnace is also able to be installed in the upflow or horizontal positions, allowing for a broader application potential.
