The Goodman® GSX14 14 SEER Central Air Conditioner uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-410A and features operating sound levels that are among the best in the heating and air conditioning industry. R-410A is chlorine-free to help prevent damage to the ozone layer. The GSX14 central air conditioner features a high-efficiency Copeland® scroll compressor and is designed for the consumer who desires superior comfort, quiet operation, and environmentally friendly cooling performance.
This central air unit can be 14 or 15 SEER depending on which indoor unit it is paired with. If it is installed with the manufacturer-recommended evaporator coil, variable speed furnace, variable speed air handler, or variable speed modular blower, and also sometimes a thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), it is a 15 SEER system (see Accessories tab above for actual products compatible with this central air conditioner, or the Documents tab above for Goodman's spec sheet details). A 15 SEER central air conditioning system will reduce your electric bill approximately 7% more than a 14 SEER system.
Some models of the Goodman condensers include an orifice (also called "flow rater" or "piston") in a small bag taped to the side of the condenser. If the condenser you purchase includes this orifice, you will need to replace the orifice already inside the evaporator coil or air handler you purchase with this orifice included with the condenser. Doing so makes the condenser and evaporator coil compatible. You can viewthis step-by-step guide to see how to easily change the orifice.
Please note that this equipment comes precharged with R-410A liquid refrigerant, and by Federal law cannot be released to the atmosphere. You can purchase this equipment without being certified, and if you are mechanically inclined you can perform about 90% of the equipment installation yourself. However, you must have a professional heating/cooling contractor do the final part of the installation which requires managing the refrigerant.

If you are installing a heater coil in an air handler, line voltage is to be connected directly to the heater coil which will operate both the heater coil and air handler. A separate circuit for the air handler is not needed.

At your home's circuit panel, individual 220 volt double-pole circuit breakers are required for each circuit.

The GSX140361 AC-only conditioner can be up to 14 SEER in efficiency when paired with the proper equipment. As the standard efficiency on the market for all states, this unit is average in efficiency. Every SEER point is 5-7% more efficient than the one lower than it, saving you money the higher the SEER rating of the unit. Please note that this product is regulated by DOE Efficiency Standards.
Due to new efficiency requirements, this unit cannot be installed in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
The GSX140361 condenser comes with Goodman's standard 10 year parts warranty with online registration through the manufacturer. An installation that follows your state and local codes is required for the warranty to be upheld.
The GSX140361 Goodman AC condenser cabinet has a baked-on painted finish and is made of a galvanized-steel, making it approved for up to 500 hours of salt-spray and compliant with the 2010 Florida building code integrity requirements for hurricane-type winds when properly anchored. Moreover, the unit is equipped from the factory with a filter dryer that lowers general wear-and-tear on the unit. The GSX140361 provides peace of mind thanks to its durability and reliability enhancements.
The Goodman GSX140361 AC condenser comes standard with service valves that have sweat connections and easy-access gauge ports, both providing a lower installation difficulty and time to lower installation costs. The outer casing has both a top and a side access to allow for easier maintenance and warranty access when necessary.

The Goodman ASPT37C14 air handler is rated for an output of 3 tons. In many cases, the tonnage of the air handler will be larger than the condenser that it is naturally paired with. This is intentional, and is to maintain the overall efficiency of the unit. While the unit does require a condenser to function as part of a heat pump or air conditioner, heat strips may be installed in the air handler to provide straight electric heating, which can be used as an electric furnace on its own or as a backup heat option for a heat pump setup.
The ASPT37C14 comes with Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty when registered online through the manufacturer. Please note that in order for the warranty to be upheld, the installation must be compliant to all related local and state codes, as well as the unit must be paired with an approved condenser.

The Goodman ASPT37C14 utilizes SmartFrame technology in its sub-structure.
