3 Tons

The AVPTC37C14 air handler is rated for an output of 3 tons. In many cases, this tonnage will be larger than the condenser it is paired with, which increases the overall efficiency of the unit. Please note that this air handler needs a condenser to heat or cool. For straight heating or when backup heat is necessary in a heat pump application, the air handler is able to accommodate heat strips, available at an additional cost to be field-installed.

Warranty

Goodman offers a 10 year parts warranty with online registration and when the unit is matched with a covered condenser. Please note that installation that follows your state and local codes is required, normally requiring an EPA-certified installer for most of the work.

Installation and Maintenance

The Goodman AVPTC37C14 comes with a factory-installed TXV kit, preventing the need to install one to increase the unit's efficiency. The unit is also able to be installed in any orientation - upflow, downflow, or horizontal - which allows it to be extremely versatile in application. For easy maintenance, there are two access panels on the unit, and there is a CFM indicator and a front-panel sight glass. There is also a built-in control board function that helps you diagnose the unit should the need arise.

This 240 volt heater coil can be added to a Goodman air handler to provide winter-time heating capabilities.

Produces 51,150 BTUs of heat.

Controlled by sequencers for optimum temperature balance. Completely assembled and tested. Built-in overcurrent protection on all units as indicated in electrical data chart (see spec sheet). If you are installing a heater coil in an air handler, line voltage is to be connected directly to the heater coil which will operate both the heater coil and air handler. A separate circuit for the air handler is not needed. 

Depending on the heater coil size being installed, one or two circuits to the heater coil will be necessary (see "PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS" below for quantity and amperage of circuits required for this heater coil.) At your home's circuit panel, individual 220 volt double-pole circuit breakers are required for each circuit.
