The LG KNMLB181A is a 1.5 ton indoor air handler designed to work with any compatible LG heat pump condenser as part of a high-efficiency inverter heat pump system. While the unit does require a condenser to function as a complete system, heat strips may be installed in the air handler to provide supplemental electric heating, which can be utilized when outdoor temperatures fall below the operating range of the heat pump.

Installation and Maintenance

The KNMLB181A is a multi-positional air handler that can be installed in upflow, downflow (with a field-installed downflow kit, available at an additional cost), or horizontal left/right orientations, making it adaptable to tight mechanical rooms, closets, attics, or basements. Refrigerant and drain connections are oriented for each configuration with clear labeling, and front access to key components aids in service and maintenance.

Warranty

This air handler includes a 5-year parts warranty from the date of purchase. Register within 60 days of residential installation to upgrade to a 10-year parts warranty for the original homeowner, starting from the installation date.
