- Lacks longevityI bought one of these three years ago. Installed it myself, had an electrician hook up the electric. It was easy enough to install but I still had to exchange several emails with a technician because the valves needed tightened beyond the manual's description. Two and a half years later, the unit stopped functioning. $712 later, I had it recharged using dye to look for leaks. There are three in the inside wall unit. The HVAC people want to charge $2500 to replace the unit and set lines. Three leaks in the wall unit after three years...not a good look for MrCool...
