The MRCOOL Universal Unitary Heat Pump system is an easy to install, full size air handler with a slim condenser, suitable for most 2-3 ton applications. This system is incredibly flexible, combining the ultimate in ducted comfort and easy installation. The 3 ton condenser can be field converted to a 2 ton with a different dip switch setting. The quick connect fittings on the condenser and air handler allow for an easy installation processes with MRCOOL's pre-charged lines, available as an accessory up to 50 feet in length. Using the same inverter technology used by the MRCOOL mini splits, the system can run at different speeds to optimize comfort and efficiency.

- Very happy except for Very slow leakThe unit was easy to install, the thermostat was a little tricky to wire, but that might have been me. I was very nervous bending the tubes and connecting them, but I believe everything went well.
We had a couple a weeks of single digit temps, and the unit worked great, very rarely using the secondary heat.
My only issue is the very slow freon leak. It does not lose much, maybe a couple pounds every 5 months. I have not been able to find the leak with soap and water., so in a few weeks I will check with a sniffer.Posted on

- No problemsNo problems whatsoever. XPO was a little unpredictable, But no problems. Driver was very courteous.
That Mr Cool unit is awesome, you can barely hear it run in house, compressor very quit too.
I don’t yet know the impact on electric usage.
I sure hope it lasts, so far extremely happy with everything.
I will order from you again if needed. I do have a house too, this was for a cabin.Posted on
- Exceeded Expectations.I got the Mr Cool Universal 2 ton unit in April of 2021 for our downstairs. Took me about a month to install, but I only worked on it in my spare time which became significantly more motivated as May approached. I ended up changing the dip switch to 3 ton because my electrical set up allowed for the additional amps. We have been so happy with this unit and the service from HVAC Direct that we ordered the 3 ton unit for the upstairs this year...only took me 3 weeks to get the upstairs done and almost a month ahead of the heat. Very impressed with these units.
