The MRCOOL Universal Unitary Heat Pump system is an easy to install, full size air handler with a slim condenser, suitable for most 4-5 ton applications. This system is incredibly flexible, combining the ultimate in ducted comfort and easy installation. The 5 ton condenser can be field converted to a 4 ton with a different dip switch setting. The quick connect fittings on the condenser and air handler allow for an easy installation processes with MRCOOL's pre-charged lines, available as an accessory up to 50 feet in length. Using the same inverter technology used by the MRCOOL mini splits, the system can run at different speeds to optimize comfort and efficiency.

Would a 4 ton or 5 ton work in a greenhouse that is 1800 square feet for year round production?

Is this unit a down or up draft unit?
<p> This unit can be installed in both the upflow and horizonatal position.</p>
How many amps does the condenser draw...airhandler
For the air handler you will need a minimum circuit ampacity of 4 amps and a maximum overcurrent protection (A) of 15 amps. For the outdoor condenser, you will need a minimum circuit ampacity of 35 amps and a maximum fuse size of 45 amps. For more assistance, please give us a call at 1-888-377-2850. 
Can you use the existing freon lines at a home?
The Mr. Cool Universal series uses pre-charged 'quick connect' line sets which are a specialized product that allow for connection without using a brazing torch to 'sweat' the refrigerant lines together. Other, similar brands are available without these quick connect fittings. The Quick Connect fittings can be removed, which would allow you to re-use traditional copper, but then you would need to use copper stubs and an acetylene torch to sweat the connections. When r410a is eliminated will these systems be able to swap to the new refrigerant?
Great question. Today’s equipment is specifically engineered to use R410a refrigerant only. Due to every refrigerant having its own unique pressure/temperature relationship, it will not be possible to use another refrigerant in a piece of equipment except for what it is engineered to use. Does this come with a thermostat? If not what one is recommended?
Thank you for your question. This system does not include a thermostat. It is compatible with most 3rd party thermostats. You can even upgrade to a smart thermostat if that is something that interests you. The only thing to make sure of is that when installing the thermostat that the wiring diagram if followed correctly. Some of our best selling thermostats for this system are the Cielo Breez and the Ecobee. For more assistance, please give us a call.
Can this system be zoned?
Thank you for your question. Yes, since this system utilizes the ductwork in the same way as a traditional system, it should be fully compatible with zoning and dampers.
