The MRCOOL Universal Unitary Heat Pump system is an easy to install, full size air handler with a slim condenser, suitable for most 4-5 ton applications. This system is incredibly flexible, combining the ultimate in ducted comfort and easy installation. The 5 ton condenser can be field converted to a 4 ton with a different dip switch setting. The quick connect fittings on the condenser and air handler allow for an easy installation processes with MRCOOL's pre-charged lines, available as an accessory up to 50 feet in length. Using the same inverter technology used by the MRCOOL mini splits, the system can run at different speeds to optimize comfort and efficiency.

- I want my gas furnace back!I bought this because an HVAC tech friend of mine suggested it. He’s the best tech I’ve ever worked around. I’ve had mine about a year and a half, and have had various problems with it. The problem is, it’s so advanced that not many people know how to work on it! So my house is 63 degrees when it’s 36 degrees outside. And I don’t know who I can even call to fix it

- poor build quality, warranty doesn't cover fixes.I was nervous about the outdoor unit of this product because the circuit boards do not have weatherproofing. 3 months after install a bug shorted the top circuit board starting an electrical fire, destroying the board. We were left without heat in winter for weeks and after a back and forth with mr cool they would not send us a new board or fix it under warranty. I think it is ridiculous a $5000 outdoor machine has such little protection for its electrical components and ridiculous that the company can void a 5-10 year warranty 3 months in for something that could have been prevented by the company.

- Great productInstalled and set on the 4 ton setting, went through a Michigan zero degree week and kept the house nice and warm, ran a lot, but kept the house warm with no backup electric heat. Only thing I don't care for is that the outdoor unit is pretty noisy.

- Would do it againI have received and subsequently installed and now operate the Mr Cool heat pump I purchased from HVACDirect. For your company's part, you shipped earlier than I expected, and the packaging and delivery were both professional and protected my heat pump from incidental damage or instability with the two very odd shaped and skid-mounted products. I am very pleased with my overall experience with your company. Based on quotes I received from several different HVAC contractors, I saved myself approximately $13,000.00 by doing this work on my own rather than hiring a contractor to do the work. It was a fun challenge, and I would gladly do it again if I had to.

- Should have bought different brandI have had this unit for about a year. It works for awhile and then I start getting different errors. The crew at HVAC Direct have been great at trying to resolve the issue however it appears that there is an issue with the MRCOOL condenser. Had I know the issues I would run into, I would have picked one of the other heat pump brands like aciq when they were pricing me equipment.
