We have been using this wood cookstove for a few years now and have discovered some pros and cons.
Pro: this stove is heavily built and with proper care should easily last a lifetime.
Pro: this stove can easily be used for stovetop or oven use.
    Pro: It is aesthetically beautiful.
Pro: it has a small profile.

Con: this wood stove burns quite a bit more wood than a dedicated stove for heating.
Con: it is difficult to keep the oven the correct temperature for baking.
Con : this stove is quite expensive.

Overall with our space restrictions this was the best choice for us. However if we would have had more space we probably would go with a more dedicated oven/cookstove for wood burning efficiency and ease of use.

We are thrilled with the service we received from you! You had, by the grace of luck, exactly what we were after! We searched high and low for a company that had in stock the Nectre 550 wood fired oven! We purchased one from a company that said they had one in stock. They didn’t after weeks of waiting then told me it would be another 2 months plus! Canceled, fought to get our $ back. We are building a new house and had to have this stove! Amazing!! I have already baked cookies, breakfast and pizza in it wow!! We love it!
Thanks to you, we got our oven in the nick of time so we could finish our roof work.we have been staying warm ever since!
I highly recommend HVAC Direct for many reasons! Your customer service is A+, you tell the truth.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for being an awesome company to spend money with!!

Can this be used in a commercial kitchen?
No, this unit cannot be used in a commercial kitchen. If you have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.
How do I get it in my house and properly installed?
Hello, we do not provide installation. However, thumbtack.com is a great resource to help you find a local installer/contractor. This allows you to choose the person that best fits their needs and budget. When purchasing, we provide a liftgate service. When dropped off it can be moved to a safe location in preparation for installation. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thank you. https://www.thumbtack.com/
What size wood cook stove or oven do I need to heat my home efficiently?
Choosing the right size wood cook stove or oven is key to efficient heating and energy savings. Typically categorized as SMALL, MEDIUM, or LARGE, SMALL models heat up to 1,500 sq. ft., MEDIUM models cover up to 2,500 sq. ft., and LARGE models are designed for homes over 2,500 sq. ft. Factors like firewood type, ceiling height, insulation, and room layout can affect heating performance, so selecting an EPA-certified stove that matches your space ensures the best results.
Do any wood cook stoves or ovens qualify for a federal tax credit, and how can I find eligible models?
Yes, select wood cook stoves and ovens that meet EPA efficiency standards and have at least 75% thermal efficiency qualify for a federal tax credit of up to 30% of the purchase and installation cost, available through December 31, 2025. Qualifying models are clearly marked on HVACDirect.com product pages, and you can also view all eligible stoves at https://hvacdirect.com/stoves/tax-credit-stoves.html.
Do I need a hearth pad under my wood cook stove or oven for safety?
Yes, a hearth pad is essential beneath all wood cook stoves and ovens to protect your flooring by insulating against heat and preventing sparks or embers from causing damage. Installing a proper hearth pad helps maintain safety and ensures compliance with local building codes during installation.
Is a blower necessary for my wood cook stove or oven to improve heating efficiency?
While a blower is not required, adding one to your wood cook stove or oven can significantly improve heat distribution and overall efficiency by circulating warm air throughout your space. If you want faster, more even heating, a blower is a great option; however, your stove will still operate effectively without one if extra heat circulation isn’t needed.
What type of chimney or venting system is required for a wood cook stove or oven?
Wood cook stoves and ovens typically connect to your home’s venting system using black stove pipe from the appliance to the wall or ceiling. From there, the pipe must safely connect to a masonry chimney or transition to a Class A chimney pipe designed to handle high temperatures and exhaust gases, ensuring safe and efficient venting.
