Osburn Stoves and inserts are the premium stove line for one of the largest wood stove manufacturer's in North America. Here are some of the features that sets Osburn apart from other stove manufacturers:

  • Kiln Fired Clay Firebrick- Which hold up longer than pumice bricks to keep the inside of the stove hotter and burn the wood more completely.
  • Stainless Steel Secondary Air Tubes- Which introduce new oxygen into the firebox creating a secondary ignition which gets more heat from less wood.
  • Heavy Steel Construction- Made from a 3/16"" steel body and a 1/4"" thick steel top which carries a lifetime warranty.
  • Ceramic Glass- Which can withstand high temperatures and still allows you to enjoy the fire.
  • An Air Wash System- To help keep the glass clean when the stove is in use.

Clean burning, non-catalytic wood burning stoves introduce new oxygen into the firebox before the smoke leaves the stove. The new oxygen is ignited, creating a secondary burn. This generates more heat and creates a cleaner burn.

Customer Questions
Where are you located?
Our office is located in Troy, OH and we have warehouses located in Dayton, OH as well as Atlanta, Georgia. If you have any further questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out to one of our experienced customer service representative and they would be happy to assist you. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
Do I need a blower for my fireplace insert?
A blower is a great addition to a fireplace insert that helps boost heat output and improves efficiency by circulating warm air more effectively throughout your room. While most inserts can operate without a blower, adding one is beneficial if you want faster, more even heating. If extra heat isn’t necessary, your insert will still work well without a blower.
What is a faceplate or surround for a fireplace insert?
A faceplate, surround, or trim kit is used with fireplace inserts to cover and close the gap between the insert and the fireplace opening. It helps create a clean, finished look while ensuring a proper fit, and should be sized slightly larger than your fireplace’s width and height. Various sizes are available to match common fireplace openings for a seamless installation.
Do any wood inserts qualify for a federal tax credit?
Yes, wood-burning inserts that meet government efficiency standards and qualify for the 30% federal tax credit are clearly marked at the top of each product description on HVACDirect.com. You can also view all qualifying models in one place at https://hvacdirect.com/stoves/tax-credit-stoves.html to find the best option for your home.
Do I need a chimney liner for my wood stove or fireplace insert?
A stainless steel chimney liner kit is always recommended when installing a wood-burning fireplace insert or freestanding stove in a masonry chimney. The liner ensures a consistent and safe flow of exhaust gases, improving the draft and overall efficiency of your appliance while protecting your chimney from heat and corrosion. Using a chimney liner helps maintain safety and enhances stove performance.
What size wood insert is right for my home?
Choosing the right size wood insert depends on both your heating needs and the dimensions of your existing fireplace. Be sure to measure your fireplace’s width, height, and depth, then compare those to the minimum fireplace dimensions listed on each product page to ensure a proper fit. Generally, small inserts heat up to 1,500 sq. ft., medium inserts cover up to 2,500 sq. ft., and large inserts can heat areas larger than 2,500 sq. ft., though actual performance varies based on factors like firewood type, room layout, ceiling height, and insulation.
Can this be inserted in a wood framed fireplace?
This must be installed in a functioning masonry fireplace. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thanks.
Does it have an ashtray?
Hello, there is no ashtray but there is an ash lip that allows for the ash to be contained within the unit and prevents it from making a mess. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thank you.
What is the actual size of the exterior and the measurements for the inside?
Provided is the dimensions sheet for this model. If you have any further questions we recommend that you give us a call! Thanks.
Does this stove qualify for a tax credit?
Yes this model qualifies for tax credit. Bear in mind however that this model is a fireplace insert and not a stove. We do have wood-burning stoves that qualify for tax credit as well, such as the Osburn 3300 stove. If you have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.
Does this stove come with a fan?
Yes, this unit does come with the blower included. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thanks.
Will this fit a Temco 36-3 fireplace?
Please give us a call so we can get a little more information about your exact situation. That way we can give you a confident answer to your question.
Is 13x13 inch Terra Cotta top plate available?
We recommend you either give us a call to speak with a representative who can answer part questions or to reach out to the manufacturer themselves. Our team can help you find the part you are looking for.
Does it automatically adjust the airflow on startup and reloads?
The Osburn luckily does not have a timer on the air control for startup and reloads. That technology sounds good in theory but has had issues in the field. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thanks.
Why is the 3500 cheaper than the 2700 ,a bigger model, more btu?
The 2700 is a more compact heater, designed to be flush mounted into a masonry fireplace with a more decorative cast iron façade. The 3500 is absolutely a larger, workhorse of a heater. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thanks.
