With the CAPFA1818B6 evaporator coil, Goodman provides an enhanced comfort to your home. With its ability to work with AC-only systems or with heat pumps and its ability to be installed in both the upflow or downflow orientations, the CAPFA1818B6 is designed to be versatile in design and to provide an efficient comfort at a low cost.

1.5 Tons
The Goodman CAPFA1818B6 evaporator coil is rated for a 1.5 ton output. In many system configurations, this coil may be larger in tonnage than its paired condenser. This is intentional, to maintain the overall efficiency of the entire system.Please note that in order for this coil to function, a furnace or blower and a condenser is required, all sold separately.
Warranty
The CAPFA1818B6 coil is covered under Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty when the unit is installed following your state and local codes, the coil is paired with a compatible condenser, and the entire system is registered online through the manufacturer.
The Goodman CAPFA1818B6 evaporator coil is able to be installed in upflow and downflow applications. With its rust-resistant, thermoplastic drain plan, water retention rate is significantly lower than previous models. For even more enhanced durability, the cabinet is made of a strong galvanized-steel with a leather-grain finish. If you ever need to perform maintenance on your coil, there is a split-seam on the front of the casing for easy internal access. Please note that this coil will not work as a replacement for any single-piece air handler coils.
The CAPFA1818C6 evaporator coil’s foil-faced insulation lowers air leakage, increasing the amount of air flow going into your ductwork, keeping you more comfortable while decreasing the unit’s run time. With compatible equipment, the CAPFA1818B6 evaporator coil lives up to Goodman’s enhanced comfort and efficiency standards at a reasonable price.

- Very GoodIn the 3 or 4 years we have had the Goodman furnace we have been quite pleased with how efficient and quiet the unit has been. We like how, when it comes on, that the flow of heat is not a big blast of heat but just a nice quiet flow. Haven’t had any trouble with it at all.

- Still working well after almost 5 years.Installed this new Goodman 1.5 ton 410A condensing unit with matching 1.5 ton indoor coil and 40K BTU upflow heater in our rent house in June 2021. After completing a very thorough Manual J to calculate the necessary unit size I was skeptical about a 1.5 ton unit. Even in Oklahoma's high heat summers and frigid cold winters the tenants tell me it works great. We did install all new insulation in the exterior walls and attic prior to the new unit so I know that helped, but, I am still amazed what this 1.5 ton unit can do in a 1500 square foot house when correctly installed with proper insulation, supply ducting, and return sizing. I did replace the igniter in the heater in Oct 2023, but no other issues.
