The Goodman GMEC960603BN furnace features a two stage gas valve and multi-speed blower motor that can be installed in either upflow or horizontal configurations. This furnace also features a X13 blower motor that saves electricity during the heating and cooling months. This direct current motor uses less electricity than the standard multi-speed furnace blower. This furnace also includes a patented aluminized-steel tubular heat exchanger and durable Silicon Nitride Hot Surface Ignition system. These furnaces are run-tested for heating or combination heating and cooling applications. With a heavy-gauge, reinforced, insulated steel cabinet and durable baked enamel finish, this unit can be installed in a variety of locations. Not intended for use in mobile homes.

Goodman AC - The Goodman GSX160301 16 SEER Central Air Conditioner uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-410A and features energy efficiencies and operating sound levels that are among the best in the heating and air conditioning industry. R-410A is chlorine-free to help prevent damage to the ozone layer. The GSX160301 features a high-efficiency Copeland scroll compressor and is designed for the consumer who desires superior comfort, quiet operation, and environmentally friendly air conditioning performance.
In order to achieve the 16 SEER efficiency this central air conditioner must be installed with the manufacturer recommended evaporator coil, furnace, variable speed air handler, or variable speed modular blower and thermostatic expansion valve (TXV). Cabinet Features
This pre-assembled transition is a perfect for when the width of the furnace is slimmer than width of the coil. This transition is designed for a 17.5" to 21" transition. This transition is quick and easy to install and eliminates block-offs for maximum efficiency.

The GSX160301 AC-only condenser is 2.5 tons, normally enough to cover up to a medium-sized house. Please note that in some cases, the system bundle pairs this unit with a larger tonnage coil to maintain the system's efficiency.
The GSX160301 condenser is designed to be up to 16 SEER in ideal system configurations. Considered a high-efficiency, 16 SEER is around 12% more efficient than a 14 SEER system, saving you a lot of money in energy bills. 16 SEER efficiency ratings tend to be where cost meets efficiency, and is normally the best value for the efficiency.
Due to new efficiency requirements, this unit cannot be installed in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
The GSX160301 condenser comes with Goodman's standard 10 year parts warranty with online registration through the manufacturer. An installation that follows your state and local codes is required for the warranty to be upheld.
The cabinet of Goodman's condensers are manufactured out of heavy-gauge galvanized-steel with a baked-on painted finish that is approved for 500 hours of salt spray. The durable cabinet of the GSX160301 is also compliant with 2010 Florida building code integrity requirements for hurricane-strength weather.
For easier maintenance, Goodman designed the GSX160301's cabinet with two maintenance access panels: one on the top and one on the side. For easier installation, the GSX160301 is made with easy-access gauge ports and service valves with sweat connections. Both of these lower installation and maintenance times and costs, keeping money in your pocket for the things you care about most.

The Goodman CAPF3743C6 evaporator coil is rated for a 3 to 3.5 ton output. In many system configurations, this coil may be larger in tonnage than its paired condenser. This is intentional, to maintain the overall efficiency of the entire system.Please note that in order for this coil to function, a furnace or blower and a condenser is required, all sold separately.
The CAPF3743C6 coil is covered under Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty when the unit is installed following your state and local codes, the coil is paired with a compatible condenser, and the entire system is registered online through the manufacturer.
The Goodman CAPF3743C6 evaporator coil is able to be installed in upflow and downflow applications. With its rust-resistant, thermoplastic drain plan, water retention rate is significantly lower than previous models. For even more enhanced durability, the cabinet is made of a strong galvanized-steel with a leather-grain finish. If you ever need to perform maintenance on your coil, there is a split-seam on the front of the casing for easy internal access. Please note that this coil will not work as a replacement for any single-piece air handler coils.
The CAPF3743C6 evaporator coil’s foil-faced insulation lowers air leakage, increasing the amount of air flow going into your ductwork, keeping you more comfortable while decreasing the unit’s run time. With compatible equipment, the CAPF3743C6 evaporator coil lives up to Goodman’s enhanced comfort and efficiency standards at a reasonable price.
As a high-efficiency system, the GMEC960603BN Goodman gas furnace features many money saving features. The two-stage, multi-speed furnace uses a superior heat exchanger for better heat transfers to your home. Considered one of the best efficiencies on the market, the GMEC960603BN is a good way to go if you want to lower your gas bill.
Heating up to a medium-sized house in normal conditions, the GMEC960603BN Goodman gas furnace has an input of 60,000 BTU’s and an output of 57,600 BTU’s. The output in this case is determined by taking the input times the efficiency rating.
The GMEC960603BN Goodman gas furnace is a 96% efficient furnace, making it a condensing setup. This efficiency means that only 4% of the fuel going into the furnace is used up in furnace operations, while 96% of the fuel is used to heat your home. As a condensing furnace, this furnace will need to be vented with plastic or PVC flue venting. If you need to use metal flue venting, you would need an 80% efficient furnace.
With a two stage burner, the GMEC960603BN provides two heating outputs: one at a 60% heating output and one at a 100% output. The furnace also has a multi speed ECM motor instead of the last-generation inefficient PSC motor. Both of these built-in upgrades allow for your furnace to adjust the heating output and airflow more precisely to better suit your home’s comfort needs and provide a slightly higher efficiency.

The exterior casing on the GMEC960603BN is heavy-gauge steel that is insulated for enhanced protection and to lower air leakage and sound output from normal furnace operation. The hot surface ignitor is more efficient than earlier models and standing pilot lights thanks to its revolutionary new technology. Both of these end up saving you money on installation, maintenance, and bills.
The cost-saving benefits of the Goodman brand doesn’t stop at efficiency. The GMEC960603BN Goodman furnace can be upflow or horizontal, increasing the number of ways that your installer can install the system. The low-voltage terminals that are color-coded, the installation is faster and easier over standard non-colored systems. Straight from the factory, the GMEC960603BN comes with natural gas valves. However, increasing its versatility in installation, Goodman offers an LP conversion kit (found here at an additional cost) if you need it to be propane instead of natural gas. Not only does the Goodman brand save you money on installation costs, but also with maintenance and warranty work. In the event of a rare warranty issue, the on board self-diagnostic control board alerts you and your serviceman what is wrong with the unit for most basic issues for a faster solution.
Thermostatic Expansion Valves (TXVs) are:
Your system will operate more precisely and with greater efficiency with a TXV. These valves offer more control over how much liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator coil. The valves only allow a precise amount of liquid into the evaporator coil to ensure that all liquid that enters fully evaporates. This prevents too little liquid from entering the evaporator making the system run less efficiently. It also prevents too much liquid from entering the evaporator which can cause excess liquid in the suction line. Thermostatic Expansion Valves can be mounted in any position on the evaporator coil inlet and are reliable, efficient and virtually trouble-free. Select the TXV to correspond with the tonnage of your air conditioner or heat pump, as well as to match the type of refrigerant your systems uses, R-22 (standard) or R-410A (new alternative).
When using a TXV, manufacturer's recommend also installing a hard-start capacitor in your heat pump or condenser. This capacitor gives an extra "jolt" of electricity upon startup to push the refrigerant against higher head pressures that are present with a TXV system. If a hard-start capacitor isn't installed, the equipment compressor may sometimes have difficulty starting.
