These furnaces are run-tested for heating or combination heating and cooling applications. Not intended for use in mobile homes.

The Goodman GSXC180241 18 SEER Air Conditioner uses the chlorine-free refrigerant R-410A and features energy efficiencies and operating sound levels that are among the best in the heating and cooling industry. The GSXC180241 contains the two stage, high efficiency Copeland UltraTech scroll compressor, which provides improved temperature and humidity control. This unit is designed for the consumer who desires superb comfort and quiet operation.
In order to achieve the 18 SEER efficiency this central air conditioner must be installed with the manufacturer recommended evaporator coil, a Goodman variable speed furnace, variable speed air handler, or variable speed modular blower and thermostatic expansion valve (TXV). An 18 SEER system will reduce your electric bill approximately 12% - 14% more than a 16 SEER system.

At an input of 60,000 BTU’s, the GMVC800604BN Goodman gas furnace is suitable for up to a small to medium house in an average climate. The output of this furnace is 48,000 BTU’s, which is calculated by the input times the 80% efficiency rating.
80% Efficiency Rating
With the industry standard efficiency of 80% AFUE, the GMVC800604BN Goodman gas furnace uses 80% of the fuel going into the furnace to heat your home and the remaining 20% of the fuel going into it is used up in normal furnace operations and is lost out of the flue venting. The GMVC800604BN requires metal flue venting like any 80% efficient furnace, while anything 90% and above would require plastic or PVC venting.

Two Stage Variable Speed Furnace
The GMVC800604BN is equipped with two stages, allowing for an adjusted heat output to better suit your home’s comfort needs. The integrated variable speed blower on the furnace allows for an exact airflow output based on the requirements for your home as calculated by the control board and thermostat, keeping your home at a more constant temperature and increasing efficiency overall.

The GMVC800604BN comes standard with Goodman’s 10 year parts warranty and its phenomenal lifetime heat exchanger warranty. In order to maintain this warranty, the installation must follow your state and local codes and the unit must be registered online through the manufacturer.

- Misleading HeightThe coil itself is about 22” tall, as given, but the case height should be given too. Only my coil fits and had I known the case wouldn’t beforehand, I would have purchased a “naked” coil. Case on this 22” height coil is closer to 26”. Other than that, coil seems good quality, love that it’s aluminum.

- Can't go wrong, super pleasedThe 2 stage system combined with the Goodman variable speed furnace is super quiet. Have had Temps in AZ at 100 and air conditioner has still stayed on low.
