Goodman 5 Ton Fixed TXV Kit - R-410A Refrigerant
Thermostatic Expansion Valves (TXVs) are:
- Required for 14 SEER or higher split system heat pumps
- Required for many condensers or heat pump systems designed for R-410A refrigerant
- An optional upgrade for any other air conditioner or heat pump systems
Your system will operate better and with higher efficiency with a TXV kit. This kit offers more control over how much liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator coil. The valves only allow a certain amount of liquid into the coil to make sure that all liquid that enters completely evaporates. This allows for the prevention of too little liquid from entering the evaporator which would make the system run less efficiently. It also stops too much liquid from entering the evaporator which can cause excess in the lines. Thermostatic Expansion Valves are provide multi-position mounting on the evaporator coil inlet and are consistent, efficient and virtually hassle-free. Select the TXV to match the tonnage of your air conditioner or heat pump, as well as to match the type of refrigerant your systems uses, R-22 (standard) or R-410A (new alternative)
This capacitor gives an extra "jolt" of electricity upon startup to push the refrigerant against higher head pressures that are present with a TXV system. When using a TXV, manufacturer's recommend also installing a hard-start in your heat pump or condenser. If a hard-start capacitor is not installed, the equipment compressor has a possibility of having trouble getting started.

This is for house build in 1938 and renovation in 2018 with a deck floor addition. The livable square footage of this house is 2,100 square feet in Northern New Jersey. - Great OptionI will say that HVAC direct provides a great service in not having to jump through hoops in order for a home owner to buy a furnace. The furnace is built pretty basic and that is what I wanted. Just keep in mind that if you are a homeowner installing the unit on your own and you have an issue with the furnace, you must have a certified tech troubleshoot and give you a report to forward to Goodman in order to use the warranty. HVAC direct ships fast as lightning. Don't be afraid, buy the equipment and save thousands.

- My experienceI only bought a lower end furnace; but that's not to say it's not a good furnace. For the cost I'm 'very' happy. I expect that as time goes on parts will never be an issue. Nothing fancy here, just a good basic gas furnace. I have experience so I installed it myself, which makes the experience super affordable. Shipment was lightning fast. I live within one state of their West Coast Distribution Center, so I had my furnace in 27 hours from order placement. I would highly recommend HVAV Direct. While I didn't need it, I understand from friends who have; they have great sales support too.
