The Goodman GLZS4BA6010 heat pump has a capacity of 5 tons. In an ideal climate, this tonnage will normally cover up to a large house. In some bundles, the air handler or coil associated with this condenser may be intentionally larger in tonnage to maintain the unit's overall efficiency. Please note that an indoor air handler or coil that is compatible with heat pumps is required for this unit to function.

At 14.3 SEER2, the GLZS4BA6010 heat pump condenser has the industry-standard minimum, allowing the unit to remain inexpensive upfront in comparison to higher SEER2 ratings. The Goodman AMST60DU1300 air handler is rated for an output of 5 tons. In many cases, the tonnage of the air handler will be larger than the condenser that it is naturally paired with. This is intentional, and is to maintain the overall efficiency of the unit. While the unit does require a condenser to function as part of a heat pump or air conditioner, heat strips may be installed in the air handler to provide straight electric heating, which can be used as an electric furnace on its own or as a backup heat option for a heat pump setup.

This 240 volt heater coil can be added to a Goodman air handler to provide winter-time heating capabilities.
Produces 85,300 BTUs of heat.
Controlled by sequencers for optimum temperature balance. Completely assembled and tested. Built-in overcurrent protection on all units as indicated in electrical data chart (see spec sheet). Multiple branch circuit capability. High temperature limit controls for safe operation. Plug-in wiring harness for easy installation into air handlers. Rust-resistant nickel chromium heat elements.
If you are installing a heater coil in an air handler, line voltage is to be connected directly to the heater coil which will operate both the heater coil and air handler. A separate circuit for the air handler is not needed.
Depending on the heater coil size being installed, one or two circuits to the heater coil will be necessary (see "PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS" below for quantity and amperage of circuits required for this heater coil.) At your home's circuit panel, individual 220 volt double-pole circuit breakers are required for each circuit.

- Ok overallSo far so good. It has been in service for only 2 weeks as a heat pump. I hope it works well in AC mode as well. Some sort of feet on the bottom of the unit to help leveling and reduce vibration would be nice.

I had hoped the carrier would have been able to load it into our warehouse, but instead he had to drop it on the sidewalk next to our building due to his truck being so large and company policy.
