What are the Different Components of an ACiQ dual zone Mini Split System?

An ACiQ dual zone mini split system has two main components- the condenser and the air handlers. The condenser is the outdoor unit. The air handlers are the indoor units.

To connect the indoor units to the outdoor unit, insulated copper refrigerant line sets are used. Installed with the line sets is a power cable that is used to feed the indoor units power from the outdoor unit.

Do Mini Splits Work in extreme temperatures?

ACiQ dual zone mini split systems can efficiently heat, even with outdoor temperatures as low as –22 degrees Fahrenheit making them great for cold climates.

ACiQ dual zone mini split systems efficiently cool with outdoor temperatures as high as 122 degrees Fahrenheit, making them ideal for hot climates as well.

In addition, ACiQ condenser coils have a durable Gold Fin protective coating, providing enhanced resistance to corrosion even in harsh climates. Paired with the protection of the integrated base pan heater, your system will run consistently year after year, giving you peace of mind in every season.

How do I know what size system I need?

Mini split capacity is listed in British Thermal Units (BTU) or Tons. 1 Ton = 12,000 BTU, which means that either term can be used. Start by determining the square footage of your space, then apply the following sizing guide:

  • 9,000 BTU (0.75 Ton) - up to 350 sq ft
  • 12,000 BTU (1 Ton) - up to 550 sq ft
  • 18,000 BTU (1.5 Ton) - up to 800 sq ft
  • 24,000 BTU (2 Ton) - up to 1100 sq ft

Your insulation, ceiling height and number of windows can affect sizing. For assistance in sizing your system, please visit our sizing guide.
