The Goodman® GSZ14 14 SEER Heat Pump uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-410A and features operating sound levels that are among the best in the heating and cooling industry. R-410A is chlorine-free to help prevent damage to the ozone layer. With its 14 SEER rating, the GSZ14 will help reduce energy consumption throughout the life of the system.
All Goodman 14 / 15 SEER heat pumps must be installed with a bi-flow thermostatic expansion valve. This valve is installed in front of the indoor evaporator coil inline with the line set piping. If you are installing a heat pump with a backup heat source which will be a fuel furnace, you will need to install an electronic all fuel kit.
Please note that this heat pump equipment comes pre-charged with R-410A liquid refrigerant and by Federal law cannot be released to the atmosphere. Yes, you can purchase this equipment without being EPA certified. And, if you are mechanically inclined you may perform about 90% of the equipment installation yourself. However, we strongly recommend to have a professional heating/cooling contractor do the final part of the installation including managing the refrigerant. An HVAC contractor has the tools and know-how to do this work.

The Goodman GSZ140361 heat pump condenser is a standard efficiency, low-cost solution for an all-electric home when paired with a suitable heat pump coil or air handler. Just like all of Goodman’s equipment, the GSZ140361 is manufactured with high-quality materials to provide a superior comfort in your home.
The Goodman GSZ140361 heat pump has a capacity of 3 tons. In an ideal climate, this tonnage will normally cover up to a medium-sized house. In some bundles, the air handler or coil associated with this condenser may be intentionally larger in tonnage to maintain the unit’s overall efficiency. Please note that an indoor air handler or coil that is compatible with heat pumps is required for this unit to function.
At 14 SEER, the GSZ140361 heat pump condenser has the industry-standard minimum, allowing the unit to remain inexpensive upfront in comparison to higher SEER ratings. If you are replacing an existing heat pump, in most cases this SEER rating will still be higher than your old unit, allowing it to still save you money over time in energy bills.
The GSZ140361 condenser comes with Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty with online registration through the manufacturer. An installation that follows your state and local codes is required for the warranty to be upheld.
The Goodman GSZ140361 heat pump condenser is manufactured with a durable cabinet with paint that is approved for 500 hours of salt spray, making it compliant with the 2010 Florida building code unit integrity requirements for hurricane-like weather when properly anchored to your local codes. The built-in bi-flow liquids line filter drier protects the unit from impurities in the refrigerant and other general wear and tear, increasing the reliability of the unit.
The Goodman GSZ140361 has easily accessible gauge ports and service valves with sweat connections, allowing for a faster and easier installation process. There are factory-installed features such as a filter drier, compressor crankcase heater, pressure switches, and a high-capacity muffler so your installer doesn’t have to, further providing ease to the installation process. Moreover, the cabinet of the unit is fit with two maintenance access panels: one on the top and one on the side. All of these features lower your installation and maintenance costs, keeping more money in your pocket to spend on the things you care about most.
With its sound control top insulation and SmartShift technology for quiet and reliable defrost cycles, the GSZ140361 heat pump has some of the lowest sound outputs on a single stage unit on the market today.
Designed with an enhanced comfort in mind, the ARUF37D14 air handler lives up to Goodman’s expectations to be efficient and inexpensive, ready to heat and cool your home when paired with a condenser whenever you need it.
The Goodman ARUF37D14 air handler is rated for up to 3 tons. In some packages, the air handler will be slightly larger in tonnage than the condenser in the package. This is intentional, as it maintains the overall efficiency of the entire system. From the factory, the unit does need an outdoor unit to function as an AC or heat pump air handler, however it can use an electric heat kit and acts as a straight electric heating unit when the kit field installed.
The ARUF37D14 comes with Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty when registered online through the manufacturer. Please note that in order for the warranty to be upheld, the installation must be compliant to all related local and state codes, as well as the unit must be paired with an approved condenser.
The ARUF37D14 air handler is factory-sealed, making it compliant out of the box with 2001 Florida Building Code compliant and decreasing air leakage, increasing efficiency and saving the air to heat or cool your home and providing a peace of mind that the reliability of the unit will heat or cool your home whenever you need it to. Moreover, the ARUF37D14 has a sub-structure that increases overall unit stability, and its cabinet is durable in construction to protect your new investment.
The Goodman ARUF37D14 air handler contains both a coil and a blower motor in its cabinet. This one-piece design generally makes installations simpler, keeping more money in your pocket since it lowers installation costs. For accessory add-ons, there are multiple knockouts for easy installation, like a single-bulb UV light port. Moreover, the SmartFrame sub-structure provides enhanced stability and easier installation with its special mounting configurations, and the cabinet is designed to be able to function in the upflow, downflow, or horizontal configurations with ease. For easier maintenance, the air handler also has side and top access panels.

If you are installing a heater coil in an air handler, line voltage is to be connected directly to the heater coil which will operate both the heater coil and air handler. A separate circuit for the air handler is not needed.

At your home's circuit panel, individual 220 volt double-pole circuit breakers are required for each circuit.
