The Goodman brand GMVC96 High-Efficiency Gas Furnace with two-stage gas valve and a variable-speed circulating blower provides efficient and economical performance. Unlike single-stage gas furnaces that operate ‘all on’ or ‘all off,’ a Goodman brand two-stage gas furnace typically runs at the lowest possible speed to precisely maintain a constant, steady temperature in your home. A two-stage gas furnace optimizes its heating output to maximize indoor comfort and lower energy costs.
The Goodman brand GMVC96 Gas Furnace is ComfortNetTM compatible. Homeowner benefits of this system include: advanced diagnostics, automatic maintenance alerts, and continuous monitoring of the system’s performance.
These furnaces are run-tested for heating or combination heating/cooling applications. With a corrosion-resistant, painted steel cabinet, these heaters can be installed in a utility room, closet, alcove, basement or attic. (Not intended for use in mobile homes.)

The Goodman® GSX16 UP TO 16 SEER Central Air Conditioner uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-410A and features energy efficiencies and operating sound levels that are among the best in the heating and air conditioning industry. R-410A is chlorine-free to help prevent damage to the ozone layer. The GSX16 features a high-efficiency Copeland® scroll compressor and is designed for the consumer who desires superior comfort, quiet operation, and environmentally friendly air conditioning performance.
In order to achieve the 16 SEER efficiency this central air conditioner must be installed with the manufacturer recommended evaporator coil, furnace, variable speed air handler, or variable speed modular blower and thermostatic expansion valve (TXV). A 16 SEER system will reduce your electric bill approximately 7% - 8% more than a 15 SEER system.
Please note that this air conditioning equipment comes pre-charged with R-410A liquid refrigerant and by Federal law cannot be released to the atmosphere. Yes, you can purchase this equipment without being EPA certified. And, if you are mechanically inclined you may perform about 90% of the equipment installation yourself. However, we strongly recommend to have a professional heating/cooling contractor do the final part of the installation including managing the refrigerant. An HVAC contractor has the tools and know-how to do this work.

The GMVC961205DN Goodman gas furnace has an input of 120,000 BTU’s. The output of the unit, determined by the input times the efficiency, is 115,200 BTU’s. This output makes this furnace suitable for most larger houses in average climate conditions.
With one of the highest efficiency ratings available, the GMVC961205DN gas furnace is 96% efficient. At this efficiency, the GMVC961205DN uses only 4% of its gas to operate the furnace itself and 96% of the gas going into the furnace to make your home warm and comfortable. With high-efficiency furnaces such as this one, the flue venting must be plastic or PVC.
Allowing for a more precise air flow output to best suit your home’s needs at a moment’s notice, the variable speed motor on the GMVC961205DN is the best blower motor that Goodman has to offer. The two stage burner on the furnace allows for a lower output and a higher output for a more precise heat output as needed by your thermostat. Both of these high-end features allow for a small increase in efficiency, but the primary benefits are enhanced comfort and a more stable temperature throughout any season of the furnace’s use.
The GMVC961205DN comes standard with Goodman’s 10 year parts warranty and its exceptional lifetime heat exchanger warranty. In order to maintain this warranty, the installation must follow your state and local codes and the unit must be registered online via Goodman’s website.
The heavy-duty tubular heat exchanger on the GMVC961205DN Goodman gas furnace is designed for constant winter use to provide peace of mind thanks to its enhanced reliability. The aluminized steel design of this heat exchanger provides a faster and more efficient heat transfer rate. Moreover, the outer casing on the unit is a heavier gauge of steel, protecting the internals of the furnace and lowering air leakage and furnace operation noise. All of these features enhance comfort and provide durability and reliability for the lifetime of the unit.
The GMVC961205DN furnace runs on natural gas from the factory. When you field-install the optional LP conversion kit (found here at an additional cost), this furnace can use propane instead when the installation requires it. This Goodman furnace is also able to be installed in the upflow or horizontal positions, allowing for a more versatile application potential.
Line sets are the copper lines which connect an outdoor condensing unit/heat pump to an inside air handler or evaporator coil. Line sets are available in different lengths and diameters to fit most applications.
The Goodman CHPF4860D6 evaporator coil is designed for any installations that the coil needs to sit on its side, in the horizontal position. With its enhanced comfort and superior efficiency design, the CHPF4860D6 is an inexpensive yet quality choice for you.
At an output of 4 to 5 tons, the Goodman CHPF4860D6 evaporator coil is ready for almost any horizontal installation at that size. In many situations, a condenser that is paired with the condenser is going to be smaller than this coil. This is intentional and is to maintain the overall unit’s efficiency. Please note that for this coil to function, a furnace or blower and a condenser is required, all sold separately. This coil is not designed to replace a coil in a single-piece air handler.
The CHPF4860D6 coil is covered under Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty when the unit is installed following your state and local codes, the coil is paired with a compatible R410A condenser, and the entire system is registered online through the manufacturer.
The Goodman CHPF4860D6 evaporator coil is designed with a durable outer casing and a rust-resistant drain pan to lower general wear and tear to make sure the coil works for years to come. To ease installation, the unit is designed to be slim and able to fit in many crawl spaces and attics, and with its foil-face insulation making the unit’s air leakage minimal, installation location does not necessarily have to be insulated for normal temperature operations. For maintenance, the coil has a split-seam on the front of it for easier access.

Thermostatic Expansion Valves (TXVs) are:
Your system will operate more precisely and with greater efficiency with a TXV. These valves offer more control over how much liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator coil. The valves only allow a precise amount of liquid into the evaporator coil to ensure that all liquid that enters fully evaporates. This prevents too little liquid from entering the evaporator making the system run less efficiently. It also prevents too much liquid from entering the evaporator which can cause excess liquid in the suction line. Thermostatic Expansion Valves can be mounted in any position on the evaporator coil inlet and are reliable, efficient and virtually trouble-free. Select the TXV to correspond with the tonnage of your air conditioner or heat pump, as well as to match the type of refrigerant your systems uses, R-22 (standard) or R-410A (new alternative).
When using a TXV, manufacturer's recommend also installing a hard-start capacitor in your heat pump or condenser. This capacitor gives an extra "jolt" of electricity upon startup to push the refrigerant against higher head pressures that are present with a TXV system. If a hard-start capacitor isn't installed, the equipment compressor may sometimes have difficulty starting.
