The Goodman GSXC160601 air conditioning condenser is rated for 5 tons, which can cover up to a larger house in an ideal climate. In order to maintain the unit's efficiency, this condenser may be paired with a higher-tonnage coil.
16 SEER
The Goodman GSXC160601 AC condenser is designed with an exceptional efficiency of up to 16 SEER with proper system configurations. This high efficiency system will save you quite a bit of money over the 14 SEER standard efficiency by about 12-14%.
Due to new efficiency requirements, this unit cannot be installed in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
Superior Comfort with Two Stages
The GSXC160601 condenser is designed to be one of the quietest and most stable temperature output condensers made by Goodman today. With its two stage Copeland UltraTech scroll compressor, temperature stability is at its peak, allowing the condenser to only use the highest output when needed, and using the lower output more often to prevent overshooting the desired temperature and lowering the amount of time that the fan is at its loudest. Further enhancing comfort, the two stage compressor also allows for a better dehumidification of your home. Moreover, the cabinet is insulated and the compressor has a built-in foam compressor sound blanket, further decreasing the unit's sound output.
Warranty
The GSXC160601 AC condenser comes with its standard 10 year parts warranty when registered online with an installation that follows your state and local codes. When a new installation of both this condenser and a new coil or air handler in a Goodman-certified system pairing, the compressor also comes with a lifetime warranty with online registration and proper installation.
Durability and Reliability
With its durable galvanized-steel cabinet and its painted finish that is approved for 500 hours of salt spray, the GSXC160601 condenser stands up to Goodman's high durability standards. The durable design of the cabinet also makes it 2010 Florida building code integrity requirements for hurricane-type winds compliant when it is properly anchored.
Installation and Maintenance

- Solid unitThis unit appears to be GSXC18060 sold under a different label.. the cooling and environmental specs are the same. Also, my 60k unit came with a two-stage ECM fan. Solid, quiet unit. No sheet metal or grille rattles. Cooling 4000 sqft of finished attic space (poorly insulated vaulted ceilings, cheap windows) admirably up to about 95F outside temp. Upsized from the previous HO's 13 SEER 3-ton Lennox with leaky evap, and power usage for a given ambient temp day has actually gone down slightly. Draws slightly more power than the spec sheet on low stage, high stage is bang on. I'd fit a thicker compressor blanket if I had to pick something to improve.. unit is a little buzzy on low stage, but it sounds just like my neighor's new Trane.
