The Napoleon Fiberglow™ VF18 Vent Free Gas Log Set uses the existing air currents to circulate the heat it produces and vent itself. The logs themselves absorb the infrared heat from the flames and the heat is radiated back into the room. The Fiberglow™ VF18 is easy to use. A flip of a switch and you have a cozy fire. Flip it again and the fire is off. No work, no mess. At 99.9% efficient, the Fiberglow™ VF18 is a fantastic addition to any room. The ambiance of a crackling wood fire is great for a home where the optional fireplace was not chosen and it installs easily into existing or brand new openings.

Does it make a crackling wood sound?

The GVFL log set does not create a crackling sound. The crackling sound devices are often small battery powered devices that are not all that impressive. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thanks

Do you get the complete fireplace?

The main image is purely showcasing the log set. For this product page, the logs, burner, cast iron grate, lava rock, and andirons is all that is included in the purchase. If you have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.

When using the remote thermostat can you adjust the flame?

This unit features a 50% flame/heat adjustment for maximum comfort and efficiency. When stock is available, this unit generally ships within 3-5 days. How much trouble is it to add a fireplace to a home that has no fireplace?

There are many great fireplace options for homes without an existing fireplaces. There are a few fireplace types such as vent-free and electric fireplaces that are great options. What do you mean by vent free? Is there a heat-gas-ect smell in the house?

Vent free refers to not needing an open damper to burn. These logs have different burners that allow a clean burn with little to no exhaust. As an example, it works similarly to how a gas oven works in your kitchen. Please check your state guidelines regarding vent-free products.
