Santa Fe Compact70 Crawl Space Dehumidifier

The Santa Fe Compact70 (Model 4044110 / SKU: SA8104) pulls up to 70 pints of moisture per day out of crawl spaces, basements, and other tight spots where a full-size dehumidifier won't fit. Left alone, that moisture leads to mold, wood rot, buckled flooring, and the musty smell that works its way up into the living space.

At just under 12 inches tall, the Compact70 fits in low-clearance crawl spaces most units can't reach. It sits flat on blocks or hangs between the floor joists with the optional hang kit, and it runs on a standard 115V outlet.

The unit runs continuously and drains by gravity, so there's no bucket to empty and nothing to check on. Set the humidity level once and it holds it. Add the optional ducting kit and it will pull from one end of the crawl space and discharge to the other for more even coverage.

Product Features:

  • 70 Pints Per Day: Handles crawl spaces and basements up to roughly 2,200 square feet.
  • Low-Profile Cabinet: Built to slide into low-clearance crawl spaces where standard units won't fit.
  • Gravity Drain: Continuous drainage with no bucket and no manual emptying.
  • MERV-13 Filtration: Captures dust and allergens before they reach the coil, and keeps the unit running efficiently.
  • Ductable: Connect supply and return ducting to move dry air where you need it most.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Build: Designed to live full time in a damp, sealed environment.
  • 115V Power: Plugs into a standard household outlet, no dedicated circuit required.

Installation Accessories

A few add-ons let you tailor the install to the space:

  • Hang Kit: Suspends the unit between floor joists to keep the floor clear.
  • Condensate Pump: Moves water uphill when there's no drain below the unit for gravity to work with.
  • Ducting Kit: Adds supply and return ducting for better air distribution across larger crawl spaces.
  • Remote Control: Mount the humidity control upstairs so you're not crawling under the house to change a setting.

Filter

The Compact70 ships with a MERV-13 filter, 9" x 11" x 1". Vacuum it regularly and replace it every six months.

Warranty

Backed by a 6-year limited warranty from Santa Fe.

Warranty Information

Santa Fe (Therma-Stor) warrants the Compact70 Dehumidifier to be free from defects in materials and workmanship. The unit typically includes a 5-year limited warranty, depending on proper installation and usage conditions. Warranty coverage may vary based on installation and registration requirements. Refer to the manufacturer’s documentation for complete warranty details. Refer to the manufacturer’s manual for full warranty details.

Built to Live in a Crawl Space

Crawl spaces are hard on equipment. Standing humidity, temperature swings, and dirt floors will take apart a consumer-grade dehumidifier in a couple of seasons. The Compact70 is built for those conditions with a heavy-gauge steel cabinet, a corrosion-resistant finish, and coils rated for continuous operation in high humidity.

The cabinet is insulated, which does two things. It keeps condensation from forming on the outside of the unit where it would drip onto the floor or subfloor, and it knocks down operating noise so the unit isn't audible through the floor in the rooms above.

Internal components are sealed against the dust and debris that come with an unfinished crawl space, and the MERV-13 filter keeps that debris off the coil where it would otherwise build up and choke airflow. In an encapsulated crawl space, the unit runs year-round to hold the humidity down, so everything in it is spec'd for that duty cycle rather than seasonal use.

Why Choose the Santa Fe Compact70?

Keeps Working When It Gets Cold

  • Crawl spaces run cool, and most portable dehumidifiers ice over and quit below about 65 degrees.
  • The Compact70 runs down into the mid-50s with automatic defrost, so it keeps pulling water through fall and spring instead of shutting down when you still need it.

Rated for Real Conditions

  • The 70 pint rating is measured at 80 degrees and 60% relative humidity, which is close to what an actual crawl space looks like in summer.
  • Big-box units are usually rated at hotter, wetter test conditions that inflate the number, so a 70 pint portable will move far less water than this one under the same conditions.

Built by Therma-Stor

  • Santa Fe dehumidifiers are engineered and assembled in Madison, Wisconsin.
  • Parts and service support stay available for years, which matters on a unit that's meant to run in the same spot for a decade.

Pays for Itself in Comfort

  • Dry air feels cooler, so the house stays comfortable at a higher thermostat setting.
  • Pulling moisture out of the crawl space takes load off the air conditioner, which spends less time fighting humidity coming up through the floor.
