- Great with two flawsThis unit is working very well in my garage/shop. At 8 deg F outdoor temperature it had no issues keeping the shop at 60 deg F. It may well warm it up higher, but that's what I had it set at. The first issue I have is that if you want to attach the line set to the right of the indoor unit, you have to bend the indoor unit pipes 180 degrees. Suction line (large) had no issues but the 3/8" line kinked, requiring me to hire a professional to braze the pipe at the right angle. It's fixed and working now, but that was a $300 adder. Second issue is that the lowest you can set the heating setpoint is 60 deg, which means I have to keep the shop warmer than necessary when I just want to keep the bricks warmer than 40 deg F. I'm sure others would like the ability to leave for a few days and keep pipes from freezing without heating all the way to 60 deg. It's possible there is an operational issue that requires the indoor temp to be that high, but I suspect it's just poor assumptions.
