Customer Questions
Where is the power cord to connect the blower?
Please refer to your Installation Manual on where/how your power cord should be installed. If you are missing your power cord or have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.
How do I arrange these logs?
There is no exact order you have to follow when arranging your logs in the fireplace. A couple pointers may be to place the larger logs on the bottom to create a sturdy foundation. Leave a little room, say 2 inches, between the logs to allow the flame to make it's way through. Be sure to not block the gas flow, if you do you will need to rearrange. Once the base is sturdy continue to build upward until you get a look that looks right for you and your home.

Are Vent-Free Gas Fireplaces Safe to Use Indoors?
Yes, Vent-Free Gas Fireplaces are safe for indoor use when installed and operated according to manufacturer guidelines and local building codes. These fireplaces are designed to burn gas efficiently, producing minimal emissions and using advanced oxygen depletion sensors (ODS) to monitor indoor air quality. While Ventless Gas Fireplaces are a convenient and efficient heating option, it’s important to ensure proper room ventilation and follow installation instructions carefully. HVACDirect.com carries a full range of safe, certified vent-free fireplaces to meet your heating needs with confidence.
What is a vent-free or ventless gas fireplace?
A vent-free (or ventless) gas fireplace is a heating appliance designed to burn gas efficiently enough to release heat directly into your room without needing a chimney or vent. These units use indoor air for combustion and are engineered to produce minimal exhaust. While they are easy to install and excellent for zone heating, proper ventilation and compliance with local building codes are crucial for safe use.
What ignition options are available for gas fireplaces?
Gas fireplaces commonly offer two types of ignition: millivolt (standing pilot) and electronic ignition (pilotless). Millivolt ignition maintains a small pilot flame continuously, ensuring reliable operation even during power outages, and works well with thermostats, wall switches, or remotes. Electronic ignition lights the burner only when heat is needed, which saves fuel and energy but may require electricity or battery backup. Your choice depends on preferences for convenience, efficiency, and backup operation.
Can I install a ventless gas fireplace in a bedroom or sleeping area?
No, ventless gas fireplaces are not approved for installation in bedrooms or designated sleeping areas due to safety concerns related to oxygen depletion and indoor air quality. Most building codes and manufacturer guidelines prohibit their use in these spaces. For safe bedroom heating, opt for vented units like direct vent fireplaces.
