The GCVC961205DN Goodman gas furnace has an input of 120,000 BTU’s. The output of the unit is 115,200 BTU’s (input X efficiency = output). This size of furnace is normally suitable for most larger houses in an ideal climate.
96% AFUE
With one of the highest efficiency ratings available, the GCVC961205DN gas furnace is 96% efficient. At this efficiency, the GCVC961205DN uses only 4% of its gas to operate the furnace itself and 96% of the gas going into the furnace to make your home warm and comfortable. With all gas furnaces at 90% efficiency and above like this one, the flue venting must be plastic or PVC.
Allowing for a more precise air flow output to best suit your home’s needs, the motor on the GCVC961205DN is a variable speed ECM blower motor, the best blower motor that Goodman offers to date. The two stage burner on the furnace allows for a lower output and a higher output for a more precise heat output as needed by your thermostat. Both of these high-end features allow for a small increase in efficiency, but the primary benefits are enhanced comfort and a more stable temperature throughout any season of the furnace’s use.
The GCVC961205DN comes standard with Goodman’s 10 year parts warranty and its exceptional lifetime heat exchanger warranty. In order to maintain this warranty, the installation must follow your state and local codes and the unit must be registered online via Goodman’s website.
The heavy-duty heat exchanger on the Goodman GCVC961205DN gas furnace is designed for constant use to provide enhanced reliability. The aluminized steel structure of this heat exchanger allows for a faster and more efficient heat transfer rate. Moreover, the outer casing on the unit is a heavier gauge of steel, protecting the internals of the furnace and lowering air leakage and furnace operation noise. All of these features enhance comfort and provide durability and reliability for the lifetime of the unit.
The GCVC961205DN furnace runs on natural gas from the factory. When you field-install the optional LP conversion kit (found here at an additional cost), this furnace can use propane instead when the installation requires it. This Goodman furnace is also able to be installed in the downflow or horizontal positions, allowing for a more versatile application potential.

- So far, so goodI wanted a reliable, middle-of-the-road HVAC package with proven technology that was 1) easy to work on, 2) did NOT require proprietary replacement parts and 3) did NOT employ cutting-edge (expensive) technology. Goodman (now owned by Daiken) filled the bill for me, altho there were other brands that might have worked just as well. Delivery was reasonably prompt. The truck driver used a motorized pallet to move everything from the curb to my rear patio without a complaint (I tipped him anyway). Installation took the better part of 2 days, with some misc. clean up & adjustments later. Now that summer has arrived with 90+ degree temps, the a/c unit seems to be performing fine. It's also quiet. I did have some thermostat issues that required rewiring on a follow up visit, but otherwise no complaints. The furnace review will have to wait for roughly 5 more months when it gets cold again. HVACDirect was very good to work with, and I would buy from them again. Goodman's warranty registration process was a tad complex, but eventually I got it done & accepted via email. Oh, and the bottom line was $9,000 LESS than my highest bid for a comparable Lennox system from a local HVAC dealer. Not too shabby, but it did take the better part of April & May (including my self-education) to make it all happen, so you can't be in a big hurry when managing a project like this from scratch all by yourself. It also helps if the weather cooperates. Otherwise, you won't have the luxury of all that time to get the job done. My advice: if your HVAC equipment is fairly old (15-20+ years) & living on borrowed time, BE PROACTIVE. REPLACE IT ALL WHEN YOUR LOCAL WEATHER IS MILD & you'll save a TON of money -- thousands of dollars -- compared to waiting until it suddenly dies and you're forced to pay up big time for an immediate local replacement. Being proactive is by far the best and cheapest way to do it. You can thank me later.

- 4 ton unit, inside and out good job boys 1 day installwe haven't had it long enough to really evaluate the thing.. We live in South Texas where summer stats in mid February and I tell you it's 85deg+ right now.. Right now I have "NO" complaints what-so-ever.. Fine job boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- ouote and installexcellent furnace i shop this and others for 1 mo do your home work easy install you don't have to be a rocket scientist quotes on furnace $6500 8500 9500 install purchase discount $$ sub out sheet metal . saved $6500 total ps a lot of people don't you could buy your own furnace and save big $$ bucks some of these contractor's will rip you off with service disposal of furnace if not sure of yourself ask around or post for hvac teck who want' to make extra money ps this company tell's like it is a bout buying furnace

- ComfortableEverything is fast and efficient as well as quieter than what we had before. Before, our ac would chug away 24/7 just to struggle to keep the house at 77, now it comes on for a few minutes periodically and the house is staying cool and pleasant. With the weird weather this year, we have also used the heater. Same story. Runs for a few minutes and keeps everything comfortable and me happy!
