Inverter - The ACIQ-48-HPD 4 ton Extreme series central inverter heat pump utilizes inverter technology to convert AC power to DC, allowing the compressor inside your condenser to speed up and slow down. This allows the system to self-adjust BTU output based on demand. As the weather changes, so will your system output.
Learning Condenser - Equipped with advanced sensors, this condenser monitors indoor and outdoor air temperature, duct pressure, refrigerant temperature, and overall performance. During the initial startup, it enters a learning mode that optimizes future operations for maximum efficiency by collecting and storing data.
Adaptive Sizing - With its self-adjusting inverter design, the ACIQ-48-HPD can be sized based on your heating needs. Standard heat pumps may cause discomfort during summer when sized for heat, but this unit automatically adjusts to function like a smaller unit, ensuring ideal cooling performance without excess humidity.
Extreme Heat Technology - "Extreme Heat" means extended temperature range heating all the way down to -22°F. Traditional heat pumps cannot produce significant heat below about 30°F outside temperature. Below that threshold, they rely on expensive backup electric heat. The ACIQ-48-HPD uses the inverter to vary the refrigerant flow, allowing for maximum heat extraction during extreme cold temperatures. The backup electric heat supplements the heat pump, and only takes over below -22°F. The heat pump gives 100% at 0°F, and still gives 80% at -22°F, saving you up to 75% on cold weather heating bills.

Installation and Maintenance
Installation is very similar to installing any replacement air handler. Your technician will make electrical, refrigerant, thermostat, and communication connections as well as connect the air handler to your return and supply ductwork. The ACIQ Extreme+ central ducted air handler is multi-positional (upflow, downflow or horizontal) and utilizes a narrower cabinet than other air handlers, making it a very versatile, easy-to-install air handler. Any 24v thermostat with 2 stages of heating can control the system. Supplemental electric heat kits are available as a backup heat source for the coldest days of the year. If any maintenance is required, the intelligent control board in the air handler displays fault codes in case any part of the system experiences issues.
Please note - in order to function, this air handler must be installed with a condenser and other installation equipment, available at an additional cost if not already included in this product bundle. To use straight electric heating, an electric heat kit is necessary and is also available at an additional cost.

Customized Installation and Operation
The Ultra70 gives you three ways to install it. Tie it into your existing HVAC system with a dedicated 8" return and a supply connection with backdraft damper. Run it on its own separate ductwork. Or set it freestanding in a basement or crawl space when ducting isn't practical.
Both the return air inlet and supply air outlet use 8" duct collars. The back panel comes configured for horizontal flow through and rotates for vertical flow through with a T20 torx bit, which is what lets the same unit work in an attic, a closet, or under a floor.
Fresh air ventilation is optional and simple to add. A "T" into the inlet duct brings outdoor air into the system to dilute pollutants and maintain normal oxygen levels indoors, and the volume is adjustable with a range of dampers and controls.

As many may know this is the same manufacturer as Bryant, and carrier which is all made by midea and for the price difference there 100% comparable, there’s little to no difference in how it’s made. Very high quality easy to instal and hvac direct was easy to work with, bought this and installed , I’m a hvac service technician and bought this for my personal house and am very pleased with the savings but yet still getting a great product, took about 4 days to arrive packaging was great opted for lift gate service and delivery right to my home. Would recommend to anyone trying to go fully electric in the northern climate like Michigan.

It arrived well packaged, was the increasingly easy to understand the directions, and looks beautiful. Fit the space perfectly, and opened up the outside space where the old Condensor coil was. Since it is fall right now, we really haven't had a chance to test out how well it works though.

We recently purchased the ACIQ Extreme+ 4 Ton 17.4 Seer2 Heat Pump System to replace an ageing 4 Ton Coleman A/C and Furnace. We had the system professionally installed and it has been working great so far to keep us cool during the hot summer. We live in a warm desert climate so we were not concerned about removing the gas furnace and using a heat pump for both cooling and heating as we have mild winters. HVAC Direct was most helpful in meeting the specifications for the new system, although we did purchase the extra warranty - just in case.
