This Goodman cased evaporator coil is designed to work with compatible R32 condensers and furnaces. With a 2 ton capacity, 17.5" cabinet width, upflow/downflow installation flexibility, and Goodman’s AlumaFin7™ coil design, it helps support proper equipment matching for approved split HVAC applications.
Proper coil matching is important for system performance, fit, and installation. This coil’s 2 ton capacity helps match it to compatible condenser applications, while the 17.5" cabinet width helps determine whether it will fit correctly with the furnace and available installation space.
Goodman’s AlumaFin7™ coil design features all-aluminum construction and grooved aluminum tubing to help increase surface area for heat transfer. This design supports efficient system operation while providing a durable indoor coil option for compatible R32 equipment.
The indoor coil is part of the refrigerant circuit and helps transfer heat as air moves across the coil. In a properly matched system, it works with the condenser, furnace blower, and refrigerant flow controls to support reliable home comfort.
Goodman's AlumaFin7â„¢ evaporator coil is designed to help your heating and cooling system operate efficiently while providing dependable comfort throughout your home. Its all-aluminum construction supports efficient heat transfer and long-lasting performance, while the advanced coil design helps promote proper airflow and moisture removal.
At just 21 inches deep, the compact design can also make installation easier in homes where space is limited. When paired with compatible Goodman equipment, the coil helps deliver the efficient, reliable heating and cooling you expect from Goodman.

As a high-efficiency system, the GR9T960803BN Goodman gas furnace features many money saving features. The two-stage, 9-speed furnace uses a superior heat exchanger for better heat transfers to your home. Considered one of the best efficiencies on the market, the GR9T960803BN is a good way to go if you want to lower your gas bill.
Heating up to a medium-sized house in normal conditions, the GR9T960803BN Goodman gas furnace has an input of 80,000 BTU's and an output of 76,800 BTU's. The output in this case is determined by taking the input times the efficiency rating.
The GR9T960803BN Goodman gas furnace is a 96% efficient furnace, making it a condensing setup. This efficiency means that only 4% of the fuel going into the furnace is used up in furnace operations, while 96% of the fuel is used to heat your home. As a condensing furnace, this furnace will need to be vented with plastic or PVC flue venting. If you need to use metal flue venting, you would need an 80% efficient furnace.
With a two stage burner, the GR9T960803BN provides two heating outputs: one at a 60% heating output and one at a 100% output. The furnace also has a 9 speed ECM motor instead of the last-generation inefficient PSC motor. Both of these built-in upgrades allow for your furnace to adjust the heating output and airflow more precisely to better suit your home's comfort needs and provide a slightly higher efficiency.
With installation that follows your state and local codes and with online registration, all Goodman furnaces come with a 10-year parts and lifetime heat exchanger warranty through the manufacturer.
The exterior casing on the GR9T960803BN is heavy-gauge steel that is insulated for enhanced protection and to lower air leakage and sound output from normal furnace operation. The hot surface ignitor is more efficient than earlier models and standing pilot lights thanks to its revolutionary new technology. Both of these end up saving you money on installation, maintenance, and bills.
The cost-saving benefits of the Goodman brand doesn't stop at efficiency. The GR9T960803BN Goodman furnace can be upflow or horizontal, increasing the number of ways that your installer can install the system. The low-voltage terminals that are color-coded, the installation is faster and easier over standard non-colored systems. Straight from the factory, the GR9T960803BN comes with natural gas valves. However, increasing its versatility in installation, Goodman offers an LP conversion kit (found here at an additional cost) if you need it to be propane instead of natural gas. Not only does the Goodman brand save you money on installation costs, but also with maintenance and warranty work. In the event of a rare warranty issue, the on board self-diagnostic control board alerts you and your serviceman what is wrong with the unit for most basic issues for a faster solution.
Please note that this furnace requires a drain kit if installed horizontally. Upflow configurations do not require the kit.
Multiple buyers report quieter operation, lower energy bills, and improved comfort after replacing older units, including swaps from 25-year-old 55K–100,000 BTU furnaces to 60K–80K BTU 96% two-stage models that heated 1,300 sq ft homes in low 20°F weather without issues and in some cases cut projected heating costs to 40–50% of prior bills. Installation was often described as straightforward for DIYers, though some noted loose or sloppy internal wiring, minor shipping damage, sensor or setup errors (EE1, R32/A2L settings), missing filter racks, and occasional plenum fitment challenges.
