The AQ-GD9T800804BX ACiQ gas furnace is 40,000 BTU's. This BTU count is a measure of the input of the furnace per hour, while the output of this furnace is 64,000 BTU's (80,000 X 80% AFUE) per hour. In ideal climate conditions, this 80,000 BTU furnace is usually used to heat a medium house.
80% Efficiency Rating
The AQ-GD9T800804BX ACiQ gas furnace is 80% efficient, and the standard furnace efficiency on the market today. This means that 80% of the gas going into the furnace is used to heat your home and the remaining 20% is lost out of the flue venting. Please note that all 80% furnaces must be vented using metal flue venting, while anything higher than 90% efficient must be vented using plastic/PVC venting.
In California, many counties have a lower NOx emission requirement than the rest of the United States. The AQ-GD9T800804BX ACiQ gas furnace is California Low NOx compliant. With a built-in low emission filter, this ACiQ gas furnace produces less nitrogen oxides to be released into the atmosphere, lowering the overall amount of toxic greenhouse gases output of the average California home.
Please note that this furnace cannot be installed in the following counties in California: Fresno, Joaquin, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Madera, Merced, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Stanislaus, and Tulare. Two Stage Furnace
The AQ-GD9T800804BX ACiQ gas furnace is a two stage furnace that has two heating outputs on the burner: full output on colder winter days and a lower output for milder days that the furnace doesn't have to run quite as much. Two stage furnaces allow for a more even heat distribution, as the furnace will only kick on the higher stage if the indoor temperature is more than a few degrees away from the desired temperature. Since the lower stage will be used more often, the AQ-GD9T800804BX will run quieter than a single stage system. While the majority of the benefits of a two stage feature on a furnace are comfort based, the efficiency of the furnace is slightly higher due to it burning less fuel at its lower stage.
Natural Gas or LP Furnace
From the factory, the AQ-GD9T800804BX runs on natural gas. However all ACiQ gas furnaces can be converted to propane using the furnace's corresponding LP conversion kit, an optional accessory at an additional cost that consists of a replacement set of orifices and springs.

OVERVIEW
Inverter - The ACIQ-36-HPD 3 ton Extreme series central inverter heat pump utilizes inverter technology to convert AC power to DC, allowing the compressor inside your condenser to speed up and slow down. This allows the system to self-adjust BTU output based on demand. As the weather changes, so will your system output.
Learning Condenser - Equipped with advanced sensors, this condenser monitors indoor and outdoor air temperature, duct pressure, refrigerant temperature, and overall performance. During the initial startup, it enters a learning mode that optimizes future operations for maximum efficiency by collecting and storing data.
Adaptive Sizing - With its self-adjusting inverter design, the ACIQ-36-HPD can be sized based on your heating needs. Standard heat pumps may cause discomfort during summer when sized for heat, but this unit automatically adjusts to function like a smaller unit, ensuring ideal cooling performance without excess humidity.
Extreme Heat Technology - "Extreme Heat" means extended temperature range heating all the way down to -22°F. Traditional heat pumps cannot produce significant heat below about 30°F outside temperature. Below that threshold, they rely on expensive backup electric heat. The ACIQ-36-HPD uses the inverter to vary the refrigerant flow, allowing for maximum heat extraction during extreme cold temperatures. The backup electric heat supplements the heat pump, and only takes over below -22°F. The heat pump gives 100% at 0°F, and still gives 80% at -22°F, saving you up to 75% on cold weather heating bills.

With its ability to be installed with either an AC-only condenser or a heat pump condenser, this unit is ideal for many applications. In some packages, this coil will be larger than its paired condenser, which will increase the overall efficiency of the entire unit, but the coil should never be smaller than its paired condenser. Please note that this item cannot operate independently from a compatible condenser and blower or furnace, each available at an additional cost.
